New Cryx Necrofactorium warcaster — Mortenebra, Perfected
The mind behind Cryx’s war industry has returned — and she’s had an upgrade.
Pre-orders for Mortenebra, Perfected go live this Thursday (April 17) — the latest and deadliest incarnation of one of Warmachine’s most iconic Cryxian warcasters.
Mortenebra, Perfected is a large-based warcaster supplied on a 50mm base, making her an imposing centrepiece for any Cryx force.
Whether you’ve followed her journey from Master Necrotech to Numen of Necrogenesis, or you’re just meeting her on the tabletop, there’s never been a better time to plug into her story.
But how did a Cyrissian become the Iron Kingdoms’ queen of necromechanika?
The Apex of Necromechanikal Evolution
Once known as Lucidia, an adept of the Convergence of Cyriss, Mortenebra turned away from the rigid doctrines of her former faith and embraced the raw, iterative power of Cryx’s necromechanical sciences. With her seamless fusion of flesh, steel, and logic, she earned her place as the architect of the Nightmare Empire’s war machine.
As a true master of Cryx’s wartime industry, Mortenebra accepted her elevation without ceremony. She needed no recognition — only control. But when command was handed to a mind she deemed unworthy, her priorities shifted. Creation demanded oversight. War demanded proof.
And so, Mortenebra returned to the battlefield.
Her current form is the latest in an endless chain of self-designed iterations — each more refined, each more lethal. Her servitors, her helljacks, and even the body that carries her will are all experiments in the pursuit of one final equation:
Perfection through conflict.
Enact her design
Mortenebra, Perfected doesn’t just lead from the rear — she’s a living weapon of engineered brutality, built to test her theories in the heat of battle.
Armed with Blade Feathers, she can unleash a powerful ranged attack that’s not just about damage. Thanks to the Free Fall rule, any model with Flight that’s hit by this weapon is knocked down and loses Flight for a round — grounding key threats and setting them up for your battlegroup to dismantle.
In melee, her Tail Strike is just as cruel. With Critical Smite, she can slam enemy models d6″ on a crit, sending them flying and dealing collateral damage.
Mortenebra’s mastery of necromechanika extends far beyond brute force. Her feat, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, lets you return a destroyed large-based or smaller cohort model from her battlegroup directly into play.
It’s a powerful way to sustain pressure, and a nightmare for opponents who thought they’d cleared the field.
Mortenebra’s journey has unfolded over multiple incarnations — each one colder, more calculated, and more terrifying than the last.
In Warmachine: Legends, Lucidia abandoned the Cyriss cult and resurfaced as Master Necrotech Mortenebra — her mortal frame reshaped by Cryx’s blight, her mind rewired for war. Together with her manufactured loyal aide Deryliss, she introduced a terrifying new efficiency to the production and deployment of Cryxian warjacks.
Lucidia didn’t just abandon her past — she dismantled it, repurposed it, and reforged herself into something far greater.
Master Necrotech Mortenebra – Warmachine: Legends (MKI) 2008
“While Asphyxious controls this network of facilities, Master
Necrotech Mortenebra oversees certain operational details.
Her flawless machine logic has already exponentially increased
production in these necrofactoriums, which are equal parts
factory and surgical theater.” – Warmachine Legends (2008)
Where the Convergence offered precision, Cryx offered purpose. Reborn in Lord Toruk’s service, Mortenebra brought cold logic and industrial brilliance to Cryx’s war industry, becoming the mind behind its endless ranks of warjacks and thralls.
Mortenebra, Numen of Necrogenesis – (MKIII) 2017
By the time Mortenebra underwent her second metamorphosis becoming the Numen of Necrogenesis, she’d surpassed even the most gifted warcasters. She no longer simply issued commands — she moved in perfect synchrony with her battlegroup.
“Her army moves as one extension of her unfathomably complex mind.” – Warmachine: Legends (2008)
On the tabletop, her feat, Mechanism of Destruction, pushed Cryx’s battlegroup potential to its limits. Gaining an extra die on both attack and damage rolls (discarding the lowest) gave her forces a brutal edge. Combined with Side Step, her battlegroup could cut through the front line and reposition into devastating follow-up strikes.
Pre-orders go live April 17! Mortenebra, Perfected commands the Cryx Necrofactorium — you can check out her full rules now in the Warmachine app

Da heißt es also zum zweiten Mal:
Nanu? Dein Montenebra entwickelt sich!
Aber hat was; Kutte geht irgendwie immer!
Vom Design her 2>>1>>>>>>3
