Twisted: Update zur Zukunft

Es gibt ein längeres Statement auf Facebook wie es um die Zukunft von Twisted bestellt ist.

Greetings from The Engine,
Now that I’ve had a chance to catch up with the personal life (my wife requires a catch up week for her and then I get to get caught up on the house stuff) after two solid months of final prep and a week in Milwaukee at the greatest miniature convention on the planet, ADEPTICON!!! It’s time for the April update.
As March’s update was pretty substantial in regard to what was shown, shared and presented at AdeptiCon, the April update will be a bit shorter with a quick AdeptiCon recap and a look ahead at some of what you can expect to see in the crowdfunding campaign.
AdeptiCon 2025!!!
So, for those of you who missed the news, I’m terrible at two things…social media and taking photos. Being a kid of the 80’s…I learned to hate photo day and all things camera and sadly that has just turned into…’oh damn, I forgot I have a camera in my pocket and didn’t take any pictures’, so I have nothing to show of the greatest gaming week of the year…like seriously, nothing, not even a selfie or me and some random other game developer I’ve known for 20 years. I’m ashamed.
Now, heading into AdeptiCon, I was only expecting to have a demo table and demo models to show off, however our friends over at Wyrm Forge/Smokey Raven showed up with stock in hand. Adrian really kicked it into overdrive and surprised me with this. It was fantastic to see new metal cast up and blistered, ready to be picked up and put into play! Due to Adrian beating the planned website update, you can pick up stock from his website until I have completed updating the DG site, that link for y’all:
Throughout the weekend, the buzz and feedback was consistent and extremely positive, with many long time fans excited to see the world of Twisted returning and many new fans experiencing the game for the first time. Shaun from Smokey Raven killed it at the demo table, showing many people the delight that is Twisted. Friday night I was invited to speak at the Geek Nation Tours dinner (mainly cause I was one of the sponsors) and Shaun crushed it once again giving demo’s after dinner. Whether new or long time fans, the news of Twisted return was very well received and created a great deal of conversation for myself and the Smokey Raven team. I also personally spoke to a number of developers who expressed more than a little bit of excitement at Twisted return throughout the weekend as well. For not having anything beyond a demo table and a full rack of stock, I and the team were extremely happy with how the weekend went.
Onto some of what’s coming for T2E…we’ll start with the Crowdfunding campaign…
While this isn’t a complete list, and obviously a number of details are missing as The Engine likes to reveal all things when it feels like it, we can at least give you a glimpse into the near-ish future. Pete and I are working fervently to get this campaign up asap!!
To start there will be two new companies;
The Dickensians will see The Orphanage open up, led by The Beedle and his lovely wife The Matron, this Company is Nancy’s little ‘pet project’.
The Servants will also see a new Company by way of The Inquisition, led by the Fanatical Puritan Bernardo Gui.
The campaign will also bring in two new factions – The Queen’s Court and Mercenaries, each with two companies to start.
As I’ve stated in the past, there will be a book…a Limited Edition Book, this will be a Large Collectors Tomb – limited in print to 500 most likely as the price will be hefty. What can you expect in this massive Collection of Ozsome?
New Rules
-Solo-play
-The Nameless Campaign (build your own Company)
-Company Theme Rules
-New schools of Alchemancy
-Faction updates
Existing rules will get updated (FAQ/Errata- send in those feedback notes (Discord is a great place for this)
Some characters will get updated version…2nd level if you will
Lore…lots of lore…over 20 stories of various sizes planned for the book, along with half dozen or more beforehand to be added to the lore section of the new website.
As shown in March there will also be a collection of Partner products, some of these will be available during the campaign, some will not.
JourneymanMiniatures – Crossover models – 75mm versions of some of your favorites…but crossovers go both ways, so expect to see 32mm versions of Tim’s models enter the fray! – A number of these will be available during the campaign.
Warsenal – tokens and templates in printed acrylic. Working to confirm campaign availability.
Mats by Mars – Tabletop gaming mats. Working to confirm.
Avante Art World (formerly Scale75 US) Faction Paint Sets. Working to confirm final agreement (time constraints here).
Stormcrow Scenery (not official, just endorsed by Demented Games) – not available during the campaign, but will be highly featured in the T2E book and website.
We’re still working on a few more things, but I can say that most of the concept art is complete, Pete has been busting his tail on getting things done, and a large number of the models for the new Companies for the existing Factions are sculpted, with the Companies for the new Factions having quite a few models either completed or in process.
That’s all for now! Until next time…may The Engine always be in your favor*
*unless your name is Ben…sorry Ben.
