Soldier of Fortune 20: ‚The Second Great Unifier‘ – €7,25

Rise to fame and glory with March’s Soldier of Fortune figure – The Second Great Unifier!

Born into a peasant family into turbulent 16th Century Japan, the man who would become known as Toyotomi Hideyoshi would rise throughout his life to become one of the most important figures in Japanese history, and ruler of the entire country in all but name. Distinguishing himself as a soldier, commander, and administrator in the service of the great Oda Nobunaga, Hideyoshi rapidly rose through the ranks, succeeding Nobunaga after his lord’s assassination. As a powerful member of the Imperial Court, Hideyoshi embarked on a wide-ranging series of campaigns across Japan, bringing many powerful clans to heel, and earning himself the sobriquet of ‘the Second Great Unifier’.

Hideyoshi left an enormous social impact on Japan, solidifying a caste system that endured for centuries, banning slavery, conducting enormous restoration and renovation projects, and largely balancing out the power of individual daimyo nobles. This awesome Warlord Resin figure depicts him in his dynamic, warlike aspect, springing into battle with sword raised. Packed with detail and motion, it’s an amazing opportunity for painters to really show off their skills, and makes for a perfect commander for any Pike & Shotte Japanese force.

Toyotomi Hideyoshi is an extremely busy man, with a lot of work to do (and battles to fight!). He’ll only be available until 31st March 2025, at which time he’ll have to get back to the serious business of unifying Japan, and won’t be seen again for a long time!

Daimyos – €18,00

Lead your samurai and ashigaru into battle with these Daimyo commanders!

The daimyo were powerful feudal lords who controlled huge swathes of territory across medieval Japan. Although nominally subordinate to the Shogun and Emperor, in reality many daimyo were warlords and landowners intent on improving their own lot by any means necessary. These men would frequently clash, wielding huge armies of samurai and ashigaru against each other and devastating the land in great battles and campaigns. Some would rise to greatness, while others would be remembered in infamy. No matter the motivation, if there was a battle during the Sengoku period, there was almost certainly at least one daimyo at the heart of it – often literally, leading their troops on the field!

This set contains three legendary daimyos to lead your Japanese forces. Each is cast in crisply detailed Warlord Resin, and modelled after one of the three ‘Great Unifiers’ of Japan, arguably the most successful daimyo of their eras, but they can just as easily be used to depict any Japanese commander in your games of Pike & Shotte. Toyotami Hideyoshi is depicted on horseback, while Oda Nobunaga and Tokugawa Ieyasu are on foot – all are splendidly armoured and ready to command their forces in battle.

This Warlord Resin boxed set collects seven vassals of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, the legendary ‘Second Great Unifier’ of Japan, who won everlasting fame and immensely improved their social station for their actions at the 1583 Battle of Shizugatake. At the pivotal moment in the engagement, they led a bold attack which turned the tide of the battle and won victory for Hideyoshi. All would be richly rewarded for their work as Hideyoshi continued his meteoric rise, with many becoming daimyo in their own right.

Clad in the height of Samurai fashion and wielding a variety of weapons, these dynamically posed figures are an absolute dream for any painter wanting to show off their skills. All seven figures are packed with detail, and each is worthy of being a centrepiece for an army in its own right. When fielded together, whether as a single unit or as individual commanders, they’re a stunning sight to behold on the Pike & Shotte tabletop.
