Eternal Dynasty Unveiled: Meet Xao & Syen

Banner Bearer Syang Xao Fwalin

Though not born of the Royal Hwan Clan, Syang Xao Fwalin bears the Dynasty’s Royal banner into battle just as her grandmother did. Such an honour has not been granted lightly; Syang Xao Fwalin rose through the ranks of the Royal Army through skill, determination, and fanatical loyalty. She has, like her grandmother, embraced the Dynasty’s promise of lasting peace and prosperity for her people.

Fwalin is descended from Xao Fengming who gave the order which crushed the Tyoku rebellion and confirmed the ascent of the Dynasty. The royal banner bearer has spent her life trying to live up to the legacy of her ancestor. In this journey, she has embraced the Royal Army at every step; even when it has brought her into conflict with her own family.

Some, even among the Hwan Clan, view her renunciation of her family and Clan in favour of the Royal Clan as a sign of unsettling personal ambition. Yet, Xao sees herself as a living example of the Dynasty’s promise; an opportunity to set aside petty rivalries and ancient grudges between Clans in favour of a brighter future for everyone willing to embrace the unity brought by the Dynasty.

Her own family suspect that the Royal Clan’s subtle influence is at play beneath the surface, particularly through Xao’s mysterious Cyber-Lizard, which is said to possess a mysterious connection to the Oracle AI. Yet, none question the truth of Xao’s own undying loyalty to the Dynasty, which has brought together the Clans and ended the long war between Clans.

Faing Syen Hoyi & Xaotyan

Tragedy saw Faing Syan Hoyi separated from her family as a child when the Alien Hives raided her newly settled world. She fled into hiding along with her Cyber Tiger pet, Xaotyan, and a handful of other Cyber-Creatures. These machines often serve as pets and occasionally hunting companions for Kusarians, possessing only enough Starjade for rudimentary intelligence. She remained in hiding for years, learning to forage for food and parts alongside her robotic companions, extensively modifying them during their time together.

When she was eventually tracked down and adopted by a Royal Army Captain, Syen’s story became a popular tale and curiosity among many Kusarians. She was soon incorporated into the Royal Army, where she has eagerly applied her expertise with Cyber Creatures to hunt down any Hivers who dare venture into Kusarian territory.

A fearsome hunter who shuns the companies of others, her reputation and skill with handling Cyber-Creatures have ensured that few commanders are willing to question her position. This is especially true after her independence and indifference to rivalries between Clans proved vital in defending the Wall of Worlds from a Hive Titan incursion.

Rumours persist, however, that she has a softside, doting on every Cyber-Creature she sees like a beloved pet but few have been willing to repeat such a rumour while her, or any of her robotic companions, might be in earshot.
