(with two FREE stl robots as a welcome gift!)
I’ve been waiting to release some proper mech factions out there for a while, and now I can finally put out two at once – and what’s better than a fully modular ruined city to go with that? The whole new range is rich in variations and detail, and most importantly brings a new dimension to Full Spectrum Dominance. Now, let’s take a quick look at the factions:
The Reclaimed
Built in the halls of some of the Factory Cities, the Reclaimed are concrete and steel constructs guided by reprogrammed AI cores scavenged by destroyed Tech bots. Not as cunning, but more cohese and coordinated, their waves of large mechs and Wardens (field mechanics, constantly repairing and agumenting the constructs) are hard to slow down, let alone stop.
The idea for these machines have been lurking in my skull for at least a decade, but it’s with the help of the sketches from Lewis K that I managed to make it into a real faction.
Cute, towering, a bit slow for sure, controlling the battlefield is not going to be an easy feat… but once in position they are hard to remove! The Wardens have to be well positioned to allow for the larger mechs to perform their best attacks, but if well coordinated they can really shine! The Corsairs
Living in their Whaleships, the space-faring Corsairs are one of the most elite forces in the Systems after the Singularity. They are few, and each controls a powerful Rig, packed with all sorts of weapons. Any nation or corporation would love to have them fight their battles.
The downside? They are few and not cheap, and planning how to use their weapons with the limited resources every Round is gonna be a real challenge!
Once again born from the concept art of Lewis K the rigs of the Corsairs are unique yet share many design elements. Combining the art with my sculpting language, the resulting models have a dense shape language while still resulting sleek and high-tech. A refreshing change from the grungy designs of Enlisted and Union, but perfectly fit for the universe. The Ruined City
Oh boy.
This range is something I wanted to do for A LONG TIME. In fact, the first sculpts (done partially by hand!) are from 2018, and since then I re-started and re-scrapped the project half a dozen times.
In the last year or so I spent some serious time writing my own Blender plugins to handle destruction, weathering and textures the way I wanted. Here is the result.
The ruins are fully modular, allowing for countless combinations, and will also feature an elevated railroad (maybe going through the buildings?), additional buildings and socket-y inserts for the front faces.
Many parts are still in the sculpting phase, but it IS going to be a massive set!Last but not Least: the freebie!
As per tradition, here’s a free file for everyone to enjoy! A simple fight vignette between a Corsair Narwhal and a Reclaimed Troll, packed with character and fairly challenging to paint.
Keep in mind that both factions feature quite bigger mechs – these are a taste of what you are getting into, though!Sign up to the Newsletter for freebies!
Do you want more free files? You can just subscribe to the upcoming campaign notifications and you’ll receive two free game-ready robots, one Corsair and one Reclaimed, to start choosing your colour schemes!
And as always… Happy printing! ~
