Welcome fellow hobbyists! Together, let’s build the Realm of Altburg! The idea is to have a series of kickstarters which will eventually lead to creating a wide range of new models that will be plentiful enough to create a massive gaming board/diorama representing the Realm of Altburg!
Each kickstarter project is symbolically represented on the map and one that is currently running, marked with an arrow. With each successful campaign you join, you are claiming new piece of land by owning the structures featured on it, just like in monopoly. 😀 The more land you own, greater the status and title you earn, and with that come the perks! In other words, the more kickstarter projects you back, greater the cumulative bonuses for you! 😉

We present to you the map of Altburg

By joining these campaigns you are helping us create a new line of tabletop terrain of the highest quality suitable for miniatures that are in 28-32 mm range. From day one, our goal is to take your gaming experience to a new level by making your gaming tables truly alive! It goes without saying that our models are perfect for creating dioramas and display bases as well.

Cottages

That being said, let’s start our journey by building the rural outskirts of the fortified town of Altburg. What better way to do so then to create a couple of Cottages, together with some walls and accessories! We always push ourselves to improve our models and take them to another level and we think that the new Cottages prove that. These are the first buildings done using new technology and improvements are really significant in our opinion. While created in a larger 32mm scale, the Cottages also fit 28mm, or even 25mm models beautifully and give room to move models around the fully playable interior. All the doors and window shutters are hinged using magnets and fully functional! The new system of magnetized hinges makes them really easy to use and prevents them from braking. More then ever attention is given to design, especially on interior which was a bit neglected compared to exterior on earlier models. Another big improvement are the see-through windows that are fully functional! New windows are designed in a way that a transparent sheet of plastic is inserted in them to represent the window glass. Aside from that, every window can be opened or closed, not only shutters!

This makes the model look very realistic and gives you opportunity to play with light effects. If you want active chimney, preparations are made for you to install the smoke machine.

Another innovation is made in the assembly process. Unlike before, the new models are unassembled. At first this might seem like a downside because it requires a bit of work but there is a good reason behind it. First and most important, we want to ensure that each piece is printed from the best angle possible making the print flawless. If we were to print the whole floors, the imperfections on some parts would be unavoidable. Second, this can make painting process much easier on some parts that would be hard to reach if the floors were already assembled. Third, having separate pieces makes converting and kitbashing much easier! And finally, fourth, unassembled models take less space when packed, which can lead to cheaper shipping and the chances of breakage are reduced.
Assembly process itself is very easy. Unlike vacuum cast models which always have slight deviations in size and form, printed parts are very precise, making it really easy to fit them together.
Without further ado, Let’s take a look at new Cottages!

Cottage I

Cottage I kit consists of 17 parts, and is valued at $37. For Kickstarter backers 20 magnets for all the hinges and a sheet of transparent plastic for windows glass are FREE!

Cottage II

Cottage II kit consists of 26 parts, and is valued at $44. For Kickstarter backers 42 magnets for all the hinges and a sheet of transparent plastic for windows glass are FREE!

28/32mm Scale

To get an idea of how big the models are, here is a collection of photos were you can see them compared to a 32mm human miniature (©Tiny Furniture). While created in a larger 32mm scale, the Cottages also fit 28mm, or even 25mm models beautifully and give room to move models around the fully playable interior.

Interactive Models

To help you use our innovative magnet system to hinge your doors and windows (and who knows what else in the future 🙂 we have prepared a short video tutorial.

Add-Ons:

Once you have chosen a Pledge level (reward), you can choose to include as many add-ons to your pledge as you need.

Accessories

To make your Cottages cosy and recreate the scenes from the photos, we have prepared for you this beautiful accessories kit that will make any rural scene alive.

Accessories kit consists of 46 parts, and is valued at $18.

Like the houses, the cabinets are interactive! Great for different scenarios to hide things inside for your players. 🙂

Rural Walls

One of the exciting features of this kickstarter is our new system of rural walls! It is designed in such a way that it gives you endless possibilities! There are plenty of different wall sections and gateways to make any wall design you like. Weather you want to spice up your diorama or need some obstacles for your wargame, Walls are the perfect choice, especially for fighting skirmishes!

This core set contains:

• 4 straight wall sections
• 4 slightly curved wall sections
• 2 curved wall sections
• 2 damaged wall sections
• 4 ruined wall sections
• 4 L wall sections
• 2 T wall sections
• 1 gates wall section

In total that is 23 wall sections valued at $57
Note that there will be plenty more different wall sections in the pledge manager for you to choose from and expand the core set if you want to.

Water Well

Water Well consists of two parts allowing you to make a deep or flat version.

• Deep version is intended to be partially sunk into the surface of the gaming board or display base, making it look more realistic. It is also closed at the bottom so you can pour water effect inside.
• Flat version, while it lacks the depth, it is more versatile then the deep version because it can be placed anywhere at any time.

Water Well kit consists of 2 parts, and is valued at $7.

Stretch Goals:

Stretch Goal 1 UNLOCKED

Take your cooking outside with this awesome kettle on tripod!
