Duchies of Vinci Faction Book – Meet Gerepetto & Mantissa
Here is the first look at two of the all new Duchies of Vinci Heroes you can get alongside the launch of the Duchies of Vinci Faction Book in our upcoming launch campaign on MyMiniFactory’s Frontiers! This book will detail the lore, history, and life of the Duchies of Vinci and will also include four all new narrative hero models to add to your Duchies of Vinci armies!
Gerepetto Collodi, Inventor
Gerepetto Collodi once had a bright future. He was one of the rising stars of the University of Ollenna, a brilliant young Inventor with groundbreaking ideas for improving Automa design and autonomy. He spent every waking hour developing prototypes, working faster than any of his peers.
But over the years, Gerepetto changed. He would talk to the stars and declare that his next Automa would be a “real boy”. Despite his genius, people around him were worried that he had been driven insane by constant exposure to high quantities of Mindstone.
Things came to a head when Gerepetto revealed his latest creation, an amazing upgrade of the classic Automa Brute model which he nicknamed Ponocci. When the Duchess of Ollenna demanded that he hand over the Automa to her army, the Inventor refused, claiming that Ponocci was his very own son.
In recognition for years of faithful service, the Duchess allowed him to leave rather than imprisoning him. Gerepetto now travels the peninsula with Ponocci, offering his services to anyone who can pretend not to notice that his “son” is a two-ton steel puppet.
Mantissa “Headshot” Oscaneri, Sharpshooter
Mantissa grew up in a small village in the border Duchy of Ortezza. Like many peasants of the Paretemi mountains, she learned to shoot a crossbow before she could walk. She made a name for herself as a child by winning several shooting contests. But when she was a teenager, most of Mantissa’s family was slain during a Daemon raid. She swore to avenge their deaths and became a mercenary, seeking employment with any Captain who was fighting Daemons.
Her path eventually led her to the Antenate Daemon Guard, a corps dedicated to protecting their Duchy from the Daemons that dwell within the chasm that runs through their city. Mantissa became a sharpshooter, trained in the use of the long-range Snipebow. She rose to fame during the Battle of the Bell Towers, during which she slew Change Harbinger Dreadrime with a single bolt, earning the nickname Ciapaspara, meaning “Headshot”.
She serves with the Daemon Guard to this day and is known to be a stern, intimidating figure, carrying many trophies from her most prestigious kills.
In the coming weeks we will reveal more about this fantastical book, but for now we encourage you to check out the campaign, and as they say in Vinci: Biona Riocca!

Grimdark Future: Star Quest – Into the Frontier Now Available to Patreon Supporters
“Let me get right down to business: I have acquired crucial information that could be key to finding the famed Chrono Shards… It’s probably the most valuable prize in this corner of the Frontier.” – Las-ZL0We’re eager to announce our first Grimdark Future: Star Quest Campaign, Into the Frontier. We will release this across six chapters, with the first two chapters releasing today to all Tier 1 and Tier 2 Patreon supporters. Tier 2 Patreon supporters will also get the 3D Model for Rixxon added to their MyMiniFactory libraries. We will continue to publish a chapter of the adventure alongside Human Defense Force releases in the coming months to allow you to use your new models in our first Star Quest adventure. As we said when we released Grimdark Future: Star Quest, October Patreon supporters will also be getting these rewards added to their libraries retroactively.
About Into the Frontier
The chapters of Into the Frontier, except for the first and last, are designed to be played in any order. As with our Age of Fantasy: Quest Campaigns, each of these chapters will also contain two scenarios. Players will face a variety of unique challenges and receive rewards, both from the missions themselves and the accompanying story!
Players can play the adventure with any valid party. While recommended enemies will match up with HDF force releases, it’s possible to play the scenarios with any collection of units for your enemies!
The Story
As the title implies, this story takes place in the Frontier, the vast uncharted rim of the galaxy. This region has already been introduced in the Grimdark Future World Book, but it is ripe for further exploration.
Your adventure starts out on Tugator, one of the more famous gateways to the Frontier. Here, you’ll be able to adventure alongside the diminutive robot Las-ZL0 in pursuit of the legendary adventurer Ellisia Orvanas. Thousands of wild rumours circulate about this Elven corsair, some of which are even true, and she is reputed for being harder to catch than a Kalruxi’an glow-fly. The most notable of these rumours claims she is currently pursuing a priceless treasure known as the Chrono Shards.
However, you are not alone; Colonel Rixxon, a renegade Human Defense Force Commander, has established himself in the sector, and he is also determined to hunt down the elusive Elven adventurer. Rixxon has abandoned his former loyalties in favour of cold-hard cash, confident that he can make a fortune with a mysterious alternative fuel source harvested from a nearby planet.
Gameplay
During a fateful encounter with Rixxon, you’ll find yourself a witness in the Colonel’s assassination of a crime lord and former client of his. Unfortunately, this leaves you and everyone else in the bar marked for elimination by this renegade commander.
In your first mission, your team of plucky adventurers will have to hold out against multiple waves of attacks before escaping in the chaos. Fleeing civilians litter every corner of the station, marked for elimination like yourself. You will have to fight smart to protect them and keep the pressure off, or else use them as a distraction to make Rixxon’s minions easier to pick off as they swarm into the bar.
Of course, even if you make it out, you’ll still have a long way to go before you can catch up to Ellisia and shake the Colonel for good. With Las-ZL0’s aid and connections, you might just be able to turn the situation around, but might just be able to do it.
Onwards to Adventure
As the adventure progresses, you might find more aid from other sources as well, since Rixxon hasn’t been able to build his wealth without making his share of enemies. This ragtag opposition to the renegade colonel may serve as valuable allies throughout your quest. Still, you’ll have to dodge bullets, defuse traps, charm, and intimidate to have any chance of reaching your objective.
If you fight well and stay one step ahead of Colonel Rixxon’s minions, you might just be able to catch up to the legendary adventurer Ellisia and perhaps even get your first clue in the search for the Chrono Shards.
