GW: Wochenvorschau mit Blood Angels und Angmar
Die Blood Angels bekommen ein neues Armeeset, mit Fokus auf der Todeskompanie, es gibt Nachschub für Legions Imperialis, außerdem geht die Reise in den Norden von Mittelerde ins untergegangene Reich Angmar, in einer neuen Wochenvorschau von Games Workshop.
Sunday Preview – The Blood Angels Descend and War Comes to Angmar
Another week is almost over, which means it’s time for another Sunday Preview. This one is pretty big, with both the new Blood Angels Army Set, a trifecta of armoured vehicles for Legions Imperialis, and a whole host of Angmar-related stuff for the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game. Let’s get stuck in.
Warhammer 40.000
Blood Angels Army Set
The legacy of each Space Marine Chapter is coloured heavily by the events of the Horus Heresy, but few wear the trauma of brother turning on brother than the Blood Angels. The death of Sanguinius runs through the veins of every Blood Angel, and through it, they are cursed with a deep genetic flaw that leads to violent, all-consuming madness. Those who suffer from this Black Rage become part of the Death Company, deployed as shock troopers to be redeemed by a glorious death in battle.
The Blood Angels Army Set contains a sizable force of Death Company troops, under the command of Lemartes, Guardian of the Lost and Astorath the Grim, who are reimagined in fantastic new plastic miniatures.
They are joined by 10 Jump Pack Intercessors, 10 Assault Intercessors, and a terrifying Brutalis Dreadnought. You can turn these into their Death Company variants found in the Codex with four new Blood Angels upgrade kits that are included, each of which contains a pile of sculpted shoulder pads, Terminator Sergeant components, extra weapons, heads, specific Death Company pieces for use with Mk X Tacticus armour, vehicle icons, and a whole reliquary’s worth of relics and icons. To finish things off, a new Death Company transfer sheet featuring 293 transfers is included.
This set is also the first place you’ll be able to get Codex Supplement: Blood Angels, with a glorious cover found only in this set that features Blood Angels artwork and red foil details. Inside you’ll find all the background on the Blood Angels and their forces, alongside the rules you need to field them in battle.
Three Detachments exemplify the sons of Sanguinius’ vengeful approach to war, and 15 datasheets cover their unique forces. There are also rules for a new combat patrol featuring the Sanguinary Guard, and expanded Oathsworn Campaign rules for Crusade. Finally, a set of 18 datasheet cards – three Combat Patrol and 15 regular – keeps book-keeping to a minimum during battle.
Warhammer The Horus Heresy: Legions Imperialis
Legion Sabre Strike Tank Squadron
The Sabre tank was developed in the latter days of the Great Crusade, a high-speed vehicle designed so that the Legiones Astartes could more easily deploy heavy weapons to the frontlines at great haste. This speed also allowed it to outflank larger armoured vehicles, bringing its main weapon and sabre missiles to bear against weaker flank and rear armour to great effect.
This box builds eight Legion Sabre Strike Tanks, with a choice of either anvilus autocannons or neutron blasters, plus a hull-mounted heavy bolter or multi-melta. It also contains a Legiones Astartes Vehicle transfer sheet with 1130 transfers.
Termite Assault Drills
Besieging fortifications was long the preserve of bombers and long-range siege weaponry, but the invention of the Termite Assault Drill allowed the Legiones Astartes to deploy their shock troopers into the heart of opposing fortresses from beneath the ground, their subterranean trajectory protecting them from interception. These transports continued to be used during the Horus Heresy, as Loyalist and Traitor alike used them to assault otherwise impregnable fortifications.
This box contains eight Termite Assault drills, and a Legiones Astartes Vehicle transfer sheet that contains 1130 transfers.
Leman Russ Exterminator and Annihilator Squadron
Few tanks received as many variants as the Leman Russ, the workhorse of the Solar Auxilia. The Leman Russ Exterminator with its paired autocannon was designed to obliterate infantry formations in mere moments, while the Leman Russ Annihilator was fitted with a twinned lascannon that made for a reliable anti-tank solution.
This box builds eight of either variant, with a choice of hull-mounted heavy bolter or lascannon, and comes with a Solar Auxilia vehicle transfer sheet with 288 decals.

Rise of Angmar
Return to Middle-earth with a new expansion that details how Arnor fell into despair and ruin at the hands of the Witch-king. Rise of Angmar contains a wealth of new rules for you to use, including 13 profiles representing the heroes and villains that fought to determine the fate of Arnor, and updated army lists that incorporate these new profiles, plus seven new Legendary Legions.
22 Narrative Play Scenarios give you the tools you need to recreate the battles between Arnor and Angmar, and a campaign system links them all together and ensures that each mission has an effect on the overall outcome. It also features a short history of the conflict, a painting masterclass on haunted ruins, and a showcase of gorgeous miniatures.
Eärnur, the Last King of Gondor
At the time of Arnor’s fall Eärnur was the heir to the throne of Gondor. A mighty warrior or renown, he sought to prove his worth by fighting the Witch-king, but in a critical moment his horse was driven mad by fear and allowed the Lord of the Nazgûl to escape. He eventually became king, but the shadow of this encounter lay over him until his final confrontation in Minas Morgul.
As a master duellist he is able to face off against mighty champions without fear, and this kit contains two models – one on foot, and one mounted – both made from Forge World resin.
Aranarth & Argadir, Heroes of Arnor
Argadir, Captain of Arnor is a skilful warrior with a wealth of battlefield experience, and his rise through the ranks to command the Knights of Arnor has put him on the frontlines against the twisted forces of Angmar. He is joined by Aranarth, First Chieftain of the Dúnedain, a mighty warrior who became the de facto leader of his people after his father fell in battle.
This set contains Argadir both on foot and mounted, and Aranarth on foot – all three are made of Forge World resin.
Knights of Arnor
The men of Arnor that prove themselves skilled enough to fight on horseback are often recruited to the Knights of Arnor. Armed with spears and plate armour, these brave warriors charge into battle, scattering infantry and breaking shields with their deadly momentum.
This set contains two models, made from Forge World resin.
Nazthák and the Shadow of Rhudaur, Heroes of Angmar
The Witch-king had many powerful allies at his beck and call, including the mysterious Shadow of Rhudaur, and the Orc captain Nazthák. A scavenger by nature, and veteran of many wars, Nazthák has managed to survive by snatching equipment from the battlefield and can steal wargear from enemies he has slain.
Only the Witch-king knows the true history of the mysterious Shadow of Rhudaur, and uses this to bind the powerful spirit to his implacable will, utilising him as a dread warrior in battle. Both of these miniatures are made from Forge World resin.
Aldrac & Fráecht, Heroes of Carn Dûm
The men of Carn Dûm pledged their allegiance to the Witch-king, and have since been ruled over by a succession of ruthless Warlords. Of these, Aldrac is the most savage and zealous, leading his men in war against the kingdom of Arnor from the front lines where his brutish strength comes to the fore.
Alongside him battles Fráecht, Vassal of the Witch-king. Fervently devoted to his master, he has been blessed with the power to recite incantations that enable his words to evoke strength, courage, and ruthlessness in his allies.
This set contains two miniatures, both made from Forge World resin.
Warriors of Carn Dûm
The warriors of Carn Dûm may lack the proper armour and martial training of the Kingdom of Arnor, but they make up for it with raw strength, stubbornness, and an unrelenting drive to make war. Since pledging themselves to the Witch-king, they have been engaged in constant battle, brutally attacking their foes under the command of their ruthless captains.
This set contains six Forge World resin miniatures, with options for a Captain and banner bearer.
Werewolves of Angmar
All manner of shape-shifters and skin-changers have found service under the dark lord, including men able to take on wolf-forms. The Werewolves of Angmar may once have been able to shift between forms, but now they are stuck in their feral forms, vicious and deadly creatures that possess a bloodlust unmatched by most creatures in Middle-earth, making them ideal hunters.
This set contains two Forge World resin miniatures.
Returning Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game Miniatures
To complement the release of the Rise of Angmar, a selection of miniatures are returning to the range for you to order. Noble Círdan & Erestor join the Lords of the Dúnedain, alongside King Arvedui & Malbeth the Seer, the Kings of Men, the Shade of Angmar, and Gûlavhar, the Terror of Arnor.
You can also pick up the Warriors of Arnor Warband, which features 12 warriors, a captain and standard bearer, and both Rangers of the North and the Dúnedain of the North – two sets each containing six miniatures. All of these products are made of metal.

Das wird eine große und teure Bestellung. Arnor brauche ich so einiges von und Angmar bekommt auch gute Verstärkungen. Spätestens in den Herbstferien möchte ich dir Angmar Kampagne komplett spielen, da freue ich mich schon lange drauf.
Endlich bekommt Herr der Ringe mal wieder so einen Schwung Neuheiten 🙂
Ja, das knallt. Leider von forge world, daher sehr wahrscheinlich mondpreise. Ich warte mal die neue edition ab und ob sie die alten kriegermodelle mal überarbeiten.
Ja, ich gehe mal von 700-800 Euro aus, die ich ausgeben werde.
Ist schon ne Marke, aber auf eBay wurden die blister mit drei Modellen für 100+ gehandelt 😀
Wird denn die Angmar Erweiterung mit der neuen Edition kompatibel sein oder wird sie dann schon wieder obsolet sein?

Die Regeln werden obsolet sein, die Szenarios sollen spielbar bleiben, Regeln für Arnor und Angmar kommen dann als PDF durch die kurze Zeit.

Ich möchte an dieser Stelle noch eine wichtige Anmerkung loswerden: Dass ich in der Diskussion von heute und gestern die Beiträge von Hauke und FS gelöscht und geahndet habe, sollte Dir nicht das falsche Gefühl geben, hier auf der sicheren Seite zu sein. Ich habe sehr wohl auf dem Schirm, dass diese Debatten immer und immer wieder durch deine ewig gleichen und immer wieder aufgewärmten Anti-GW-Kommentare getriggert werden.
Jeder hier kennt inzwischen Deine diesbezüglichen Meinungen und ich werde künftig beim bloßen Verdacht eines Trollkommentars dazwischengehen. Was hier auf dieser Website gestern und heute abgegangen ist (weil ich einmal die Frechheit besessen habe, im Urlaub zu sein und die Kommentare nicht 24/7 zu beobachten, ist eine bodenlose Frechheit und ich werde das nicht noch einmal so eskalieren lassen.
Ich habe erst kürzlich bei Radio Hobbybruch gesagt, dass ich die Kommentare hier gerne laufen lasse, auf die Selbstheilung der Community setze und unseren Lesern dahingehend ein gewisses Vertrauen entgegenbringe. Offensichtlich habe ich mich zumindest teilweise getäuscht.
Ich lasse mir diese Website und die damit verbundene Community nicht von ein paar wenigen kaputt machen! Und wenn das bedeutet, dass ich löschen und ggf sperren muss, dann soll es halt so sein.

Gut, das du im Urlaub warst wusste ich jetzt nicht, aber klar da hast du besseres zu tun als hier aufzupassen.
Ich will aber weder für schlechte Stimmung oder Leute vergrellen, dementsprechend werd ich dann beiträge unter GW Meldungen aufs nötigste beschränken oder ganz einstellen je nachdem was dir lieber ist.
An der Stelle ein kurzes Danke fürs Durchgreifen.
Und vor allem ein großes Lob für euren Einsatz und die Arbeit an der Website! Ich bin größtenteils stiller Leser, aber komme häufig gerne her für die Sammlung an News. Und auch die Kommentare tragen dazu bei, deswegen freut es mich wenn hier auf den Ton im Umgang miteinander geachtet wird.
Am Ende haben wir alle das gleiche Hobby und ich finde eine der größten Stärken des Tabletop Wargaming ist es, dass es so viele unterschiedliche Geschmäcker unter einen Hut bringt. Das schaffen kaum andere Hobbys so gut. Deswegen finde ich es auch oft spannend von unterschiedlichen Meinungen zu lesen und mich selbst für neue Sachen begeistern zu lassen – bin halt ein „Hobbyschmetterling“ 😀

Ich bin oft nur stummer Leser muss jetzt trotzdem Danke sage. Das war wirkt nötig. Ich würde gern verschiedene Meinungen zu den Releases egal welche lesen und nicht den Zwist von einzelnen Benutzern.
Es sollte ja möglich sein zu diskutieren, ja GW polarisiert, aber jeder sollte seine Meinung dazu sagen können ohne daß er jemanden angreift oder dafür angegriffen wird.
So kontrovers die neuen Blood Angels auch teils diskutiert wurden, vor allem ja die Sanguinische Garde, so sehr muss ich sagen dass die neuen Updates meine Liebe zu den Söhnen des Sanguinius wieder entfachen – das war meine erste Space Marine Armee, und wird wohl mein Wiedereinstieg werden.
Und Legion Imperiales hat mich eh gehypt – ich finde den Maßstab einfach so spannend, und finde es so schön dass nach und nach die Modelle einzeln erscheinen und hoffe dass wir bald auch größere Erweiterungen der Modellreihe sehen.
Und vielleicht sogar eines Tages Charaktermodelle und Primarchen? Zumindest die Dämonenprimarchen, wie damals bei Epic, wären eine feine Sache.
Das mit den Primarchen für Legions wurde schonmal mit einer etwas ironischen Antwort in einem frühen FAQ angekündigt. Auf die Frage, ob es die mal geben würde, war die Antwort, frei übersetzt: „na das wäre doch was.“
Klingt auf jeden Fall so, als stünde der Plan.
Zumindest halten sie sich die Möglichkeit offen 🙂 Ich wage mal vorsichtig zu hoffen.
Bei den Resin Minis werde ich passen, aber die Könige der Menschen wollte ich schon lange haben 😀
Das neue Herr der Ringe Zeug werde ich mir bestimmt früher oder später kaufen, das alte hab ich zum Glück schon alles
Also von den neuen Blood Angels bin ich mittlerweile enttäuscht, da haben die Black Templars und Dark Angels schickere neue Miniaturen bekommen (Schwertbrüder, Inner Circle Knights) als die potthässliche neue Sanguinary Guard. Ich habe daher meine Vorbestellung der dicken Box gestern storniert.
Die Rückkehr einiger klassischer HdR Minis ist für Fans dagegen ziemlich nice.
Und bei Legions dürften damit auch alle neuen Minis aus dem Tallarn Buch schon raus sein. Mal schauen, ob GW das System jetzt noch weiterführen wird.
Eärnur sieht toll aus aber ein Update von Aragorn wäre dringender gewesen.
Die Angmar / Arnor Figuren gefallen mir, aber ich hätte wirklich lieber re-sculpts aus der Ringkrieg Zeit – da interessiert mich das Setting einfach mehr.

Gut, zugegeben, ich hab den noch nie gehört, aber mein Interesse ist aufgrund deines (soooorry) Getrolles von 0 auf -10 gesunken.

Die Herr der Ringe Minis gefallen mir sehr gut, schöne Sculpts und bemalfreundlich dazu.
Schade nur, dass es die Arnor Reiter bloß in 2 Varianten gibt.
Bin wirklich auf die neue Edition gespannt, die Hoffunng, dass alte Plastik Kits mal überarbeitet werden habe ich aber aufgegeben.
Also der BSDM-Marine mit dem Gag-Ball und die Bemalung von dem Fliegeding ist schon nah an Nsfw dran
