Anvil Industry: Neuer Kickstarter
Anvil Industry bringt mit der „British Space Force“ viktorianische Science-Fiction Minis auf Kickstarter.
British Space Force: Modular Miniatures for Wargaming
28mm scale sci-fi dress uniform army. Fully modular & pre-supported 3d printable STLs for characters, squads, and kitbashing!
Welcome to the British Space Force!
Distant planets await our intrepid British explorers, resplendent in their finest dress uniform, with the courage and discipline to match!
One of our oldest and most popular miniature ranges is long overdue an update, so the Anvil design team has taken up the mantle and resculpted many firm favourites, as well as adding some completely new sculpts into the mix!
The designs for the British Space Force take inspiration from historic British dress uniform, around the turn of the 20th century, which is then given a sci-fi twist for use in various sci-fi tabletop wargames. Note that these designs are not intended to be historically accurate!
For the first time this range of miniatures is available in Anvil Digital Forge format for home 3D printing, and all rewards in this Kickstarter are for digital STL files.
All components will be fully pre-supported (and supplied unsupported too) and ready to slice and print on resin LCD or DLP style printers. Our supports are tailor-made to each piece for maximum print quality and minimal chance of print failure.
If you are not able to 3D print miniatures, we will be doing a physical release in the future, but not part of this campaign.
If the project funds, everyone will get the Core Packs shown below, but with your help, we hope to unlock a number of stretch goals for extra content, either included as a free bonus, or as great value paid add-ons.
Share the project with your friends and gaming groups to unlock as many extras as possible! The more people we reach, the more you get!!
Modular Miniatures – The Regiments Joint System
Using our modular Regiments infantry joint system you can create a huge variety of unique miniatures. Our STL packs contain sculpts of heads, torsos, arms, legs, weapons and accessories, with two distinct styles of dress uniform.
Character models generally have fewer separate/posable components, to allow our team greater freedom to design heroic, imposing leaders!
With Anvil Digital Forge packs, you select the components you want to use, then slice, print, de-support, clean and post-cure them. Assemble the finished components with super glue to make the miniatures you want, or use the bits to kitbash or convert other models!
The modular joint system is also used across the Anvil Industry Regiments infantry range, so your rewards are instantly compatible with a huge library of parts on the Anvil Industry website and MyMiniFactory (sold separately)!
Free Sample Miniatures
Try out the modular miniatures of the BSF for yourself! The sample pack includes enough bits from the Kickstarter Infantry Pack to build a male and female figure, as shown in the image below. Note: The sample only contains pre-supported bits, but the BSF STLs will come both pre-supported and un-supported.

The Core STL Packs: £120+ STLs for £30 or £25 Early Bird!!
- All of our Reward Tiers include the following Core STL Packs: Character, Command, Infantry and Heavy Weapon.
- The packs together contain 200+ components!!
- Each pack is shown below with an assembled example render, and the components render.
- Each component is supplied individually pre-supported and ready to print.
- Some parts are Multi-Shell, which means there are additional ways in which the STL can be manipulated before printing. This is entirely optional and explained further down the page, it is intended to give more advanced users even greater variety.
Core Character Pack
The Character Pack comes with five unique heroes to lead and support your troops:
- General Lady Britannia, mounted on her faithful steed. Command your troops with this beautiful centrepiece miniature!
- Two Commissars to boost morale, one mounted and the other on foot, who carry the dictates from Lady Britannia to her troops, ensuring their swift and efficient implementation. These figures make excellent commanders in their own right, too, in cases where the Lady must attend to other sections of the line.
- The Combat Engineer is a heavily armoured individual that can construct or tear down fortifications with equal skill, and repair equipment and armour on the field.
- The Psychic is a wild card whose eerie powers are capable of boosting the capabilities of the regular infantryman to feats of preternatural ability, or blast their foe directly with telekinetic power!
These Characters come with many optional parts that can be swapped in or out depending on your needs on the battlefield. All of their weapons and accessories are modular, and cross-compatible with the standard Infantry melee and pistol options, using our Regiments open-wrist joints. Additionally, the two Commissar’s heads are also separate parts with regular Regiments neck joints!
Core Command Pack
A specialised cadre of command and support elements help bind your army together, into a ruthless fighting force!
- Unique senior officers
- Spotters
- Radio operators
- Battlefield medics
- Standard-bearers
- and Musicians!
Maintaining order and a clear head whilst barking orders down the line is critical in the heat of battle – keeping the men and women of the army marching in formation as you fight for every inch of ground!
The modular command parts have even more separate and cross-compatible pieces, letting you customise your squad leaders, or section commanders and their staff to your heart’s content!
Core Infantry Pack
The loyal men and women of your army, and the heart and soul of the British Space Force! The Generals may claim the glory, but the true heroes are the ones fighting on the front lines!
Inside the Infantry Pack you’ll find the majority of your army’s modular parts, enough to field section upon section of completely unique individuals, with no two ever needing to be the same!
The Regiments of the BSF come in two notable styles, those of the brave expeditionary forces – in their iconic pith helmets and cross belts – and those of the valorous home guard – in their finest parade uniform.
Over 100 unique parts let you build out your forces in your own chosen style! Heads for men and women, in either pith helmets or parade caps, and torsos with cross belts or double-breasted uniforms, let you define the kind of army you want to build and paint!
Every soldier comes with your choice of either a modern-styled phase rifle, utilising our Regiments pistol-grip style weapon joint, or the more archaic rifle-stock compatible phase carbine.
Squad sergeants can be picked out with more ornate versions of either of the head and torso options, as well as being equipped with a powered sabre, or chain-sabre, and your choice of phase pistol or Ion pistol!
The Infantry pack has the most potential to see additional options and styles, so watch out for those stretch goals!
Core Heavy Weapon Pack
Heavy weaponry forms the anchor to the BSF battle line, a withering hail of fire denying the enemy wherever they seek to advance!
The standard heavy weapon comes in the form of the Maxim heavy machine gun, mounted on a mobile gun carriage.
As with the infantry pack, the heavy weapon pack is fully modular, allowing you to customise your support weapons to fit the theme of your army.
And, just like the infantry pack, we’ve got lots of additional weapons lined up as stretch goals to expand the devastating array of options you’ll have at your disposal!
Example Configurations
Below are renders of digitally assembled examples of the miniatures you can build with the components in the Core Packs to show a small selection of the variety you can achieve.
Remember, our modular joint system means you can build thousands of unique miniatures by combining different parts!
Full Component Breakdown
Here are renders showing all the modular components included in the Core STL packs.
These are all named files with pre-supports, ready for you to pick the parts you want to print and then assemble.
Example Photos
We’ve included photos of some of our assembled 3D printed test models to show the kind of detail and quality you can expect, and ways of assembling the components. These printed miniatures are for example purposes – all rewards are digital files for home 3D printing.
Minis Painted by Lil’Legend Studio
Here’s a sneak peek at miniatures painted by the fantastic Lil’Legend Studio! Look out for more in an update soon.
Multi-Shell
Every STL we release (and any other STLs you own) is made of at least one „shell“ – A manifold object with no holes and a distinct 3D boundary, which a 3D slicing program can interpret as having volume, and slice into layers for printing.
An STL file can consist of multiple different ’shell‘ objects that can overlap, intersect, or be wholly distinct parts, and a 3D printer will still print a single solid object! One common example – An object and its support structure are often two different shells, that intersect at the support tips.
This presents us with an opportunity! Where possible to do so, we will often keep certain parts of our sculpts deliberately separate, but still overlapping with the main object, to give you, our Kickstarter backers, and Digital Forge subscribers, more options with how you use our files for digital kit bashing!
In the Image below you’ll see that parts of the minis are highlighted in different colours. These highlighted objects are kept as distinct “Shells” in the STL file, meaning that you can modify, remove, swap, or otherwise do as you will, with those parts!
We try as far as possible to keep the geometry hidden under a shell ‚clean‘ so removing say, a bandana, still leaves a useable head sculpt.
During the project, we will post an update where you’ll find an image for each component showing available Multi-Shell functionality for digital kitbashing!
Any Stretch goals, and many components in the Mega Bundle, also include Multi-Shell elements where possible.
If you would like to make use of the multi-shell function for any kind of digital kitbashing – it’s quite beginner-friendly and quick to learn! We have put together instructions for using Meshmixer and Blender.
For clarity, this is completely optional, the files will print fine as they are, this just gives you more variety with the minis you can make.
Feel free to ask any questions in the comments if you are still unsure!
Stretch Goals
Help us unlock more value and content for everyone with our stretch goals, either included as a free bonus, or as great value paid add-ons.
The more people support the project, the more additional components and miniatures we can design!
Design work on some of these elements has started but they are not yet finished and optimised for print, as a result, the final parts may differ slightly from any renders shown.
Depending on funding, some stretch goals may be completed after the project ends, and delivery may come after the rest of the Core content.
Mega Bundle: £240+ of STLs for only £80 (£70 Early Bird)!
As well as the Core Packs featuring all the British Space Force models and unlocked stretch goals, we are also offering a Mega Bundle including a huge range of additional historically-inspired sci-fi miniatures and accessories taken from our existing STL catalogue.
It’s a great way for people who are new to our digital content to pick up a fantastic bargain deal!
The Mega Bundle includes the British Space Force content above, with a retail value of over £120, plus the following three modular STL sets, previously released on our Patreon, MMF and directly on our website, with a retail price of £40 each. That’s over £240 of STLs for £80!
Our Regiments modular joint system means that all components in the British Space Force pack are compatible with the mega bundle miniatures, as well as any of our other digital or resin Regiments miniatures available on the Anvil Industry website or Anvil Digital Forge on Patreon or MyMiniFactory.

About Anvil Industry
Some of you may be very familiar with Anvil Industry miniatures, and STL files through Anvil Digital Forge, but others will be new so here is a brief intro!
We have been designing minis since 2011, starting out in hand-cast resin with hand sculpting, then moving into digital sculpts, and most recently in digital files for home printing, and 3d printing for manufacture.
We are UK-based, in and around London, and all of our design and manufacture is done in-house by small but dedicated and skilled team, who are also gamers!
Our main output is Regiments miniatures, these are typically human infantry created using a modular joint system. The modularity allows for a huge amount of combinations to suit just about any tabletop game theme, as well as providing a vast array of conversion bits to use with other similarly scaled minis.
We also design Exo-Lords, which are „super-heroic“ scaled power armoured minis, Gaslands conversion bits, and a few 28mm vehicles.
If you want a new themed pack of STL digital files each month, then join Anvil Digital Forge on Patreon or MyMiniFactory Tribes!
We strive for high quality and great customer service in everything that we do, and using our own gaming experience, try to design miniatures that not only look great in renders and pictures, but also are a joy to paint and look fantastic on your tabletop.
If you want to join a community of like-minded people, feel free to join our Discord!
Anvil Miniatures Scale
We use 28mm heroic scale for our miniatures design, this means that male figures are approximately 28mm to eye level.
Heroic scale means we employ some artistic license when scaling parts to enhance the overall appearance, and let details stand out that may otherwise be lost.
Our scaling compares closely to other manufacturers of 28mm Heroic Scale miniatures, and various parts may be useful for converting and kitbashing.
Keep in mind that scales are always evolving in the tabletop gaming industry, so each manufacturer has their own interpretation. We have tried to maximise compatibility while retaining our own look.
Note that because these are digital files, you can always adjust the overall scale before printing, for example heads could be made slightly smaller to match existing minis you may have. Ultimately you decide what looks good, so feel free to experiment!
