Sunday Preview – Wade into Warcry With Starter Sets and Warbands
What is the best war cry in all of Warhammer? It’s hard to beat Waaagh! – far better than those stuffy Space Marine battle cries. It’s easy enough to yell “Courage and honour!” from behind a few inches of ceramite.
Warcry isn’t something you yell in battle, but it is a great skirmish game that takes up the bulk of next week’s pre-orders. Onwards!
Warcry: Crypt of Blood Starter Set
This brand new starter set gives you everything you need to start playing swift and decisive skirmish games. Warcry: Crypt of Blood contains two smaller than normal warbands – the Crimson Court and Xandire’s Truthseekers, who are battling over treasures inside a legendary vampire’s tomb.
The box contains a game mat and new terrain comprising a sarcophagus, statue, ruined walls, and fences. Also included is a 72-page Start Here book, which covers the core rules for Warcry as well as bespoke missions for this set. Then there are fighter and ability cards for the two warbands, 18 dice, and a cardboard token board with a punch-out range ruler.
Warcry: Questor Soulsworn
Set free from the depths of the Gnarlwood, the Questor Soulsworn will be available to pre-order separately next week. These elite warriors are the crème de la crème of the Stormcast Eternals, expected to triumph over impossible odds as they take on lethal missions all across the Mortal Realms. This group of six warriors are each worth a company of lesser fighters, and contain fearsome specialists such as the Errant-Questor Duellist, an incomparable master of weaponry, and the Soulsworn Knight-Relictor, who performs powerful invocations and accessorises with skulls.
Warcry: Royal Beastflayers
The hunt is on, and the Royal Beastflayers are riding out in the magnificent panoply of the king’s court to track the greatest game for their noble liege-lords.
To outsiders that heraldry looks an awful lot like blood, offal, and bone, but the Flesh Eater Courts’ delusions are as overwhelming as their ferocity. This twisted band of monster hunters includes a Royal Flaymaster, a Beastflayer Baron, a coterie of Ghoul Gore-Squires and Trackers, and two sinister simian brutes known as Offal Hounds.

Ich als Sammler und Liebhaber von Warcry bin echt entäuscht ☹️.
Die zwei Banden ( wenn man das so nennen kann )
Sind alte Bekannte.
Das Gelände ist vom Friedhof.
Nur das Buch ist neu.
Nein GW ehrlich das kaufe ich nicht. Ich als über 25 Jahre im Hobby lass mich nicht so über den Tisch ziehen.

Verstehe die Reaktion ehrlich gesagt nicht.
Im Buch steht doch nix neues drin.
Nein, das Gelände ist nicht vom Friedhof, das ist neu.
Gw bietet hier wohl eine kostengünstige Alternative zu den großen warcry Boxen, für Leute die das System mal testen wollen. Warum es dafür schelte und Note 6 gibt kann ich nicht nachvollziehen.
Als warcry Spieler würde ich mich freuen wenn gw die einstiegshürde senkt..
Ich freue mich total auf das Set. Verstehe den Ärger auch nicht. Das hier ist ein Ersatz für das Bladeborn Brettspiel bzw. ein Äquivalent zur kleineren, günstigen Kill Team Starter Box.
Mit dem Set kann man War Cry auch mal mit Leuten spielen, die nicht groß im Hobby sind. Ist doch eigentlich eine coole Sache.
Das einzige was ich cool finde ist der Spielplan, hab eine Schwäche für Schneespielfelder…
Fürn Fufi würd ich die Kiste schon nehmen, die Vampire wollt ich eh… Das System interessiert mich ehrlich gesagt gar nicht.

jep, zumindest die Vampire.

Mir gefällt die Box und ich denke sie wird so viel kosten wie eine Underworldstarterbox. Die Vampire habe ich schon und die sind echt Klasse.
Die Stormcasts sind auch eine Underworld Warband. Ich finde es super wenn man Warcry nur mit den Underworld Modellen spielen kann. Das Auffüllen war da eh immer mühsam. Interessant wäre für mich die Profilkarten für die restlichen Underworld Figuren in dieser Spielvariante.
Spannend. Wenn die Warcry Box günstig genug ist, könnte ich damit Mal testen, ob es mir gefällt.
