GW: Herr der Ringe – Armee der Toten Preview
Die geisterhafte Armee der Toten, die verfluchten Menschen aus den Weißen Bergen, die ihren Schwur gegenüber Isildur brachen, kehren mit einem neuen Bausatz aus durchscheinendem Kunstoff nach Mittelerde zurück.
The Armies of the Dead Fulfil Their Oath in New Translucent Plastic Kits
After forswearing their oath with Isildur to fight against Sauron’s armies in Mordor, the men of the White Mountains were cursed to wander the caverns beneath Dwimorberg and the valleys of Harrowdale for all eternity, unable to earn the sweet release of death.
Many centuries later, Aragorn petitioned the King of the Dead to come to the aid of Gondor at the battle of Pelennor Fields, and the Dead Men of Dunharrow could finally fulfil their oath, swarming the battlefield in a tide of spectral fury. The Warriors of the Dead and the King of the Dead & Heralds kits have now been recast in clear plastic with a spectral blue tint for a unique impact on the tabletop.
This isn’t the first time the ethereal has been captured in translucent plastic in the Middle-earth™ Strategy Battle Game – the five ringbearers, Isildur, Gollum, Young Bilbo, Old Bilbo, and Frodo, have all appeared as clear resin miniatures, which are currently available exclusively from Warhammer World.
The Warriors of the Dead are a little different, and that ghastly green colour is just asking to be drybrushed up with dusty whites and rusty metals to create a spectacular Army of the Dead. They won’t replace the existing miniatures, so you can easily scatter them throughout your collection.
Additionally, there’s an upcoming terrain box to give your Armies of the Dead the opportunity to fight across the ruins of Osgiliath – the Ruins of the City of Gondor set collects the incredibly modular Gondor Mansion, Ruins, and Tower kits into one absolutely packed box.
The Armies of the Dead will be available to pre-order soon, with Osgiliath following later next year.

Das kommt für mich recht unerwartet. Ich habe zwar schon eine Armee der Toten, aber wenn mich das Plastik überzeugt, nehme ich die gerne.
Sind das nicht die alten Plastikgussrahmen der Armee der Toten? Jetzt halt nur in durchsichtigem Kunststoff?
Jep. Würde mir qünschen, dass sie das wenigstens auch noch für die Reiter machen würden….
Das spricht mich dann doch ziemlich an, habe hier zwar noch nen Haufen der alten Zinn Minis, aaaber hier könnte ich schwach werden.
Hoffentlich ist das nicht wieder nur so eine „Begrenzte Verfügbarkeit“ Sache.
Sind so gut wie gekauft. Versteh den ganzen Hate in den MESBG Gruppen nicht… Sehen einfach toll aus. Klar wäre was neues schöner… Aber ich für meinen teil freu mich, wenn überhaupt mal wieder was kommt.
Die Release-Politik ist halt schon ziemlich wirr. Die Armee-Boxen letztes Jahr und die Osgiliath-Box waren ja ganz gut, aber nach dem Gelände z.B. hat ja eigtl niemand gefragt und nach den Geistern hier auch nicht. Vermute mal dass der Kram einfach keine anderen Produktionskapazitäten belastet und deshalb umgesetzt werden kann.
Das Gelände ist schön, die Box wird aber sicher 250+ kosten. Ist mir zu teuer.
Ansonsten brauche ich nicht wirklich Neuheiten für Herr der Ringe. Habe 30 bemalte Armeen aus Herr der Ringe und das Projekt ist seit Jahren abgeschlossen und spielt sich seit über zwanzig Jahren toll. Sollte mal hier und da etwas schönes kommen, OK, aber es müsste auch nicht sein.
Also nach dem Gondor-Gelände gab es regelrechte Aufschreie, als es nach kurzer Zeit schon nicht mehr bestellbar war. Das ist also definitiv etwas, was sich gewünscht wurde (ich würde mir eher wünschen, dass die große Rohan-Stronghold-Box wieder kommt ^^).
Und klar, ein wirkliches System ist nicht erkennbar. Aber es kommt was. Und das ist sogar mal ein cooler neuer Ansatz. Ich finde es gut, auch wenn mir komplett neue Einheiten natürlich lieber gewesen wären, klar.
Die Geländebox ist schon sehr verlockend, aber wird sicher auch recht teuer.
