Its interesting that the character is only seen riding in shots where its difficult to see details and so we have sculpted the figure leading his horse for something a little different.To make the reins accurately simply cut some thin strands of paper and glue them in place. It looks a lot better than trying to cast something so thin. This is also similar to the rope that he uses as a sling for the Henry Rifle that he uses. Simply use cotton thread to make this.
