The Grand Duchies of Hessen-Darmstadt and Würzburg in the Napoleonic Wars

After two very successful campaigns, here comes the third part of the series with two brand new armies for the Confederation of the Rhine.

On the one side the Grand Duchy of Hessen-Darmstadt with its good reputation as soldiers, which even led Napoleon to say:

From now on we shall no longer say „as brave as a Frenchman“ but rather „as brave as a Hessian“!

On the other side the Grand Duchy of Würzburg, which had just been an independent state since 1805 under the leadership of Archduke Ferdinand of Austria-Tuscany and existed only until 1814.

Despite the great differences of the young nations both in dialect, culture and history, (regardless the relative proximity of the Grand Duchies), their soldiers bled side by side in Napoleon’s deadliest campaigns.

Whether in the heat of Spain or in the snow of Russia, they always fought bravely for their emperor, but only few saw their beloved homeland again after these campaigns.

Most of the new miniatures of both armies can be used in the period from 1806 to 1812. For this purpose, some sets now have interchangeable heads (all Würzburg infantry and the „German“ regiments of the Hessians) to make them fit the respective period.

I had a lot of fun sculpting these colourful and varied armies, especially since I have a personal connection to Würzburg and simply love the city! I really hope you like the miniatures!

But even if you don’t wargame the Napoleonic Wars, but appreciate fine detailed and  wonderfully cast figures that are easy to paint, I would be very happy about your support!

Base Sets

These are the first sets of physical figures available from the time we reach the initial campagin goal.

You can add as may sets as you like as an addon and also change the amount later! Easiest way to do this is the „Confederation of the Rhine“ pledge.

You can also add the whole range digitally for 3D printing as an addon or as a seperate pledge.

Regarding Shipping:

As most of you know, shipping has become increasingly difficult in recent months.

Nevertheless, I try to ship everything to your satisfaction and as quickly as possible.

I have indicated September 2022 for the physical rewards. However, my caster wants to try to have everything ready by the end of July, just before his holiday. I hope this works out and I can send the things much earlier than September!

But just to be on the safe side, I’ve put down September.

Important notice for backers from the UK with physical items:

Due to current customs laws, I am unfortunately only able to send parcels to the UK if the value of goods is £135 or above.

Please keep that in mind. If at the end of the campaign, with all the  addons added, you do not reach around 160 Euros (with shipping), I may not be able to ship and will have to transfer the money back to you or find a different solution.

At my last two Kickstarters, there were only four people who were affected by this and in the end we put some additional sets in their  package to make up for the higher value, so everything worked well with this last time!

I apologise very much for this, but there is no other way for me at the moment.
