AUXILIARY
Jothrom Industrial Manipulators
This long established company arrived on Caldoom many years ago having
liquidated their presence on other, less prestigious, worlds. Initially they
were involved in supplying those robot arms used by scientists to operate
dangerous substances in enclosed spaces. They abandoned this line of work
immediately on arrival on Caldoom and instead concentrated on making heavier
manipulators for more general industrial use.
It was reported that they moved to this field because they no longer had to
worry about the problems of air-tight seals and the difficulties they had
with previous products.
On Caldoom they have a record of producing solid and reliable equipment,
which in the hands of skilled operators can perform as creditably as far
more expensive gear purchased off world. In the hands of the barely
competent, their rugged nature means that it is likely that the equipment
will survive better than the operator.
BAASTRUCK – 7,00$
The Baastruk
Baastruk Unincorporated is a somewhat ramshackle amalgamation of small manufacturers and design engineers who have come together, originally to produce utility vehicles. The parts are made by a score of small businesses and the Baastruk itself is assembled in any plant that has space at the time.
Designed to be rugged, the Baastruk originally sold itself as ‘fool proof’, only for the makers to issue a press release apologising for underestimating the calibre of fool that Caldoom has managed to produce. Still it is a popular and well regarded vehicle. Only the efforts of a generation of younger drivers have lost it the legend, indestructible.
Basic models can be purchased for as little as 2200 Stravanese Lira and are rated to carry two tons as well as driver and passenger. They can comply with the 50m legal minimum cruising height over Liberty but the warranty expires if you take them over 2000m.
Baastruk has also ventured into the domestic market producing convertibles and similar, but normally in short runs.

MULE – 10,00$
MULE AIR RAFT
The Sto-Tal Air Raft Company
The company was formed on Caldoom by a group of technicians who decided to produce a traditional air raft for the Caldoom market. Given they were drawn from several alien races, including humanity, they, or at least their advertising copywriters, have stressed the fact that between them they have managed to produce what has been described as the ‘quintessential air raft.’
Others with more experience across the sector point out that the drive appears to owe much to the classic Hammond series. Similarly the styling is very thirteenth epoch and is remarkably reminiscent of some of the more popular Pord models. Still it is generally agreed that rafts build under the Sto-Tal badge are reliable and economically priced. Only problems with patent infringement claims and similar prevent them being sold more widely across the sector.
Everybody will be familiar with the famous advertisement showing an elegantly dressed couple dancing on their raft as a robotic servitor lays a table for dinner at the bow. Whilst some customers do purchase their air raft with fine dining in mind, rather more are quite taken by the regularly exploited fact that you can load it with up to sixteen stackers and still get it off the ground. Admittedly the wise do not try for high soaring flight when so loaded, but it is rated for up six tons, or eight with the engine tuned specifically for load carrying.
Miniatures for scale purpose. And they are production of CPmodels
PALLETS – 4,00$

PLATED FLOOR-A – 10,00$

RAMOS SISTERS: TRACKTOR – 8,00$
Ramos Sisters: They spotted a gap in the market. Whilst draught animals are used for some things, and there a wide array of floaters and grav vehicles for distant transport, there was nothing reliable to pull heavy loads short distances where speed wasn’t too important. They started tracktor production some time ago, and these simple, rugged vehicles, can be seen all over the Manufactories. Even outside Liberty they are popular with Bretag and Grelfarl who use them for hauling both ore wagons and also artillery.

RIVER BARGE – 14,00$
On the world of Caldoom, the spaceport city of Liberty sits astride the Iron River. Barges are a common means of transport, hugging the coast and travelling up and down river. The city itself has spread across the river delta and the various outlets have long been canalised. Now the night soil boats make their way through even the grimmest parts of the shanty town, collecting a valuable cargo which will fetch decent money in the farmlands up-river. This valuable cargo has to be guarded, normally by scum with a poor sense of smell.

WATER FILTRATION PLANT – 18,00$
Water Filtration Plant
For a city built on a delta, Liberty suffers from a shortage of
fresh water. The water in the delta is both brackish (because
the delta is tidal) and also heavily laden with silt and organic
matter. Thus a common sight is the water filtration plants
dotted around the city. In the Manufactory, Administrative and
Merchant areas, they have piped water laid on from a number
of larger plants. In the Western Suburbs, they draw water from
boreholes and again, piped water is supplied to every house.
In the Shanties things have to be done differently. Each of the
great steel rafts will have its own small water filtration plant.
Unusually they are a service provided by the Municipality of
Liberty and are serviced by city employees. All citizens have a
‘water card’ which allows them to a fixed amount of water.
Once they have used that, they can buy more by putting
money onto their card by visiting an office in the Administrative
area.
Once you have a card the procedure is simple. Just put your
bucket under the nozzle, insert your card, fill your bucket and
then withdraw your card. Some bosses will have a bully
loitering in the area, just to make sure that nobody tries to get
their water paid for using the card of somebody weaker or
more infirm.
Given the cost of water, to use it for washing is a sign of
conspicuous consumption and will lead to the neighbours
gossiping about you. Most families will have a fine cloth which
they will spread over a suitable receptacle. They will then
slowly pour delta water through the cloth into the receptacle.
This removes most of the silt and organic matter. It is
considered adequate for washing but not drinking. Should you
need to wash anything delicate then it is best to visit a public
bathhouse in the Manufactory.
Traditionally the cloth is rinsed and the material so collected is
used to top up and fertilise the garden containers many
families have. Thus you can see flowers, peppers, cussco or
even yams growing in a tub by the door of the smallest shanty.
Many inhabitants will take a perfunctory dip in the canals
between the rafts if they are particularly dirty. Once they have
had the requisite vaccines, it is common to see the youngsters
of a score of species swimming and playing in the canals.
Normally they can expect a bucket of filtered water poured
over them when they get home.Just a note to those modelling these interesting facilities, the
towers themselves at just 330ml coke cans. It struck us that
people would prefer to drink their own coke than have us drink
it for them and ship them the empty can.
