Empress Miniatures: Neue Previews
Empress Miniatures zeigen auf Facebook neue Previews.
Here are some more previews of sculpts by Paul Hicks or our forthcoming Arnhem Heroes Kickstarter, which will be run in February hopefully. As we have explained these are detailed and heavily researched figures based on the defenders of Arnhem a few days into the operation. These sculpts show the 6 pdr gun crew, two chaps pushing the airborne issue hand trolley, loads will be added.Amongst the character group is one soldier using the Patchett Machine Carbine Mk 1. He’s the chap running. The Patchett was the original name for what became know, post war, as the Sterling SMG. It is said that approximately 100 were issued to airborne troops before the operation as a test. There is no photographic evidence for this and detailed records are scarce however as the operation was put together very quickly that’s not a surprise. Was this an urban myth? Difficult to say and more importantly prove either way however we felt it was worth a special inclusion. Worth noting is that a Patchett was carried by Colonel Robert Dawson whilst commanding No4 Commando in the attack on Walcheren as part of operation Infatuate in November 1944 and that weapon now resides in the Imperial War Museum.Hope you like.Paul & Paul.
