GW: Castellan Crowe und AoS Starterboxen Preview
Die Dämonenjäger der Grey Knight sollen in Kürze Nachschub erhalten und es gibt mit Castellan Crowe ein überarbeitetes Charaktermodell zu sehen, während mit den neuen Starterboxen bald der Kampf um die Reiche der Sterblichen fortgeführt wird.

We recently announced that a new Grey Knights codex is on the way. This secretive silver order is led by extraordinary champions – warriors so incorruptible as to stare down the most terrifying creatures of the warp without blinking. One is so fastidious in his faith that he’s allowed to carry a daemonic blade to battle. Chaos incursions across the galaxy take note: Castellan Garran Crowe is back.
Crowe leads the Purifier order of the Grey Knights, a group of Space Marines incredibly resistant to the temptations of the Dark Gods. In fact, as the head of the Purifiers, Crowe is thought to be all but immune to the corruption of Chaos. A character with such a resilient soul deserves an amazing new model.
Wow, that’s quite a glow up! With such a glorious level of detail (including a library’s worth of purity seals and a hip-mounted novel), he’s bound to be a favourite with painters, and we’d be amazed if we didn’t see more than a few of these entered into future Golden Demon competitions.
As you can see, Crowe still wields the Black Blade of Antwyr. It whispers, cajoles, and screams, promising undreamt power in a voice only he can hear, and it doesn’t have a mute button. It is a curse only Crowe can endure, but the risks are worth it – the sword is deadlier than ever.

The Warrior Starter Set is ideal for people playing Warhammer Age of Sigmar for the first time. It’s been designed for people who want to learn – or teach – the basics of the game without worrying about advanced rules.
This box contains everything you need for a good scrap, with 18 miniatures including a mystical Knight-Arcanum and five Vindictors of the Stormcast Eternals Redeemer conclaves, facing off against a cunning Killaboss, his Stab-grot assistant, and 10 loathsome Gutrippaz.
On top of that, you get dice, range rulers, a double-sided gaming mat, two manuals, and warscrolls for all the units. With fewer rules to learn, this is a great option for younger Warhammer hobbyists.
Warhammer Age of Sigmar Harbinger Starter Set
The Harbinger Starter Set is a step up in both complexity AND swag. This boxed set contains the same great troops as the Warrior Set – but there are loads of extra goodies here, including two powerful Heroes.
The Harbinger Set comes with 32 push-fit plastic miniatures: 10 Stormcast Eternals including five noble Vindictors and three elite Praetors led by the imposing Lord-Imperatant and his faithful Gryph-hound, arrayed against 10 brutish Gutrippaz and 10 Hobgrot Slittaz under the baleful eye of a Swampcalla Shaman and his unpleasant pot-grot.

Importantly, you also upgrade from a card gaming mat to a double-sided gaming board – and you get five stunning pieces of plastic Citadel scenery, including one nexus syphon, one guardian idol, two domicile shells, and one all-important pile of pillars. Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Paint + Tools Set
Yes, while the armies available in the three starter sets are easy to build and don’t need glue, you still need to snip them off their sprues, dust them down, and give them a lick of paint.
This set contains a pair of clippers, a mouldline remover, and a starter brush to get the basics painted. On top of that, you get 13 paints in 12ml pots – including all the essential colours you need to get both forces Battle Ready – as well as a Technical paint to ensure your bases look great. It’s the perfect complement to any of the sets above.

Die Grey Knights auf dem Bild mit Castellan Crowe sehen total schräg aus. Der Helm ist viel zu groß für den Rest des Körpers. Sehen aus wie Chibi Space Marines – und im Hintergrund der gefürchtete „toddler carrier“ der Grey Knights…
Ich hatte eigentlich auf einen kompletten Refresh aller Einheiten gehofft, diese Bilder dämpfen dann doch ein bisschen meine Begeisterung.
Jaaa der Nemesis Baby Carrier 😀 Der sieht noch genauso albern aus wie damals, als er einer der Gründe war, dass ich für mich festgestellt habe, für diesen albernen Unfug einfach zu alt geworden zu sein und nichtmehr unterstützen zu wollen (hach ja, gute alte Finecast Zeit)
Das Modell an sich ist technisch mMn über fast jeden zweifel erhaben. GW hat in sachen Plastik-Modelle echt mehrere schippen Detailgrad draufgelegt. Aber ich stell es mir grauenhaft vor, den irgendwie umzubauen. Was ich eigentlcih an GW-modellen immer geliebt habe: einfaches umbauen. Die aktuellen Modelle (gleich welchen systems und auch nicht nur charaktermodelle) sehen nicht mehr wirklich …. modular aus.
Das AoS Gelände gefällt mir ziemlich gut. Besonders die Statue und der Schrein (?)
Castellan Crowe finde ich auch sehr gelungen. Bin gespannt ob jetzt alle altem Space Marines „erneuert“ werden.
Die Neuinterpretation von Crowe finde ich gut gelungen. Einzig der Qualm bei dem Schwert stört mich, denn es war ja bisher Teil des Hintergrundes, dass das Dämonenschwert in Crowes Händen absolut inaktiv ist.
Neben den alten Grey Knights wirkt der neue, realistischer proportionierte Crowe aber etwas fehl am Platz. Bzw. hier sieht man dann, dass die alten Marines immer mehr aussehen wie Kinder in Marine-Kostümen…

Die drei Größen der AoS Starterboxen entsprechen denen von Indomitus im Herbst letzten Jahres. Man sollte sich von den Bilder übrigens nicht ganz in die Irre führen lassen, denn das Mini-Regelbuch wird laut der Beschreibung nur der größten Box beiliegen – so war es bei 40k ja auch.
Ich denke, dass ich mir die kleinste Box zulegen werde, da ich noch ein paar der neuen Ork Speerträger brauche.
Das AoS Gekände gefällt mir sehr gut in der großen Starterbox. Crowe finde Ich okay.
Gefällt mir alles extrem gut. Wirkt es nur so wegen der sehr hohen Base, oder ist der Castellan ein gutes Stück größer als die anderen Grey Knights? Ich bin mal auf die ersten Gussrahmen der neuen Stormcast Eternals gespannt. Also die, wo dann Körper, Arme und Beine einzeln sind.
Ich habe so das Bauchgefühl, das man daraus sicher ein paar sehr geile Primaris Umbauten machen können wird.
Aber am meisten freue ich mich auf die neuen Black Templar Sachen die iregndwann wohl bald kommen werden.
Auf einem neuen Grey Knights Codex warte ich schon lange, da kommt ein neuer Castellan Grove genau richtig. Über neue Kerneinheiten hätte ich mich auch sehr gefreut, aber das ist wohl im Budget nicht mehr drin.😜 Die AOS Starterboxen finde ich auch wieder gelungen. Und was die Black Templer angeht da freue ich mich auch drauf.⚔️
Sollen die Mauerstücke etwa eine Baustelle darstellen? Dann finde ich das nicht so toll, weil: wer baut so? Schon mal schön die Tür und die Fenster einsetzen, bevor drei Meter weiter überhaupt das Mauerwerk steht. Baustelle, Einrüstungen usw. alles schön als Idee, aber nicht so. Dieser Mini-Tempel und die Statue sehen andererseits ganz viel versprechend aus…
Ich sehe das eher als stützen damit die Ruine nicht weiter auseinanderfällt.
Die mögen zwar ihren Sinn verloren haben aber immerhin ist das geheiligtes Sigmar Mauerwerk… ist wohl (vermutlich aus Prinzip) erhaltenswert^^

Komm in die aufregende Welt der Gerüste und des Stahlbetons und hol dir jetzt die ultimativ streng limitierte Box, solang der Vorrat reicht! 😁

Ist wahrscheinlich so ein Problem mit dem Zeitalter des Krieges. Da hat man gerade was neu gebaut (oder repariert), dann wird es durch irgendeine marodierende Horde wieder eingerissen. Ergebnis: Dauerbaustelle.
Und die Säulen sind ja offenbar vorgefertigt, werden in Stapeln gelagert und mit Flaschenzügen an Ort und Stelle gehievt.
Ist auf jeden Fall mal was anderes. Man hat zumindest den Eindruck, dass irgendwer das auch mal mit dem Aufbau/Reparieren versucht, statt nur mit dem Einreißen.
Allzumal, jetzt wo Monster Geländestücke zerstören können, ist die Substanz ja eh noch mehr belastet als früher.
