Warlord Games haben eine neue 2 Spieler-Starterbox für Bolt Action angekündigt.
Island Assault!
The new starter set is focussed on the island hopping campaigns enacted by the US to reclaim Japanese advances. Unlike the land war that raged in Europe, North Africa, and the Soviet Union, where vast armies of tanks and infantry could manoeuvre and fight over large tracts of open ground, the Pacific campaign was fought mostly on a series of relatively small islands, densely packed with jungles and protected by the sea. Each island had to be landed on, fought for, and the defenders rooted out of, individually.
Containing two opposing forces set amongst the many islands in the Pacific theatre, Island Assault! contains the Bolt Action 2nd edition rules as well as a scenario booklet guiding you through your first steps in the game. Before long you’ll be adding to your new army and wreaking havoc on your foes be they fighting for Uncle Sam or the Emperor!

Und deshalb ist ein Chi-Ha und ein M3 in der Box.
USMC bzw. US Army sind also mit Halftracks auf irgendwelchen Inseln gelandet, wo sie dann auf japanische Panzer getroffen sind ?!
Auch wenn ich persönlich den M3 merkwürdig finde und mir nen Water Buffalo gewünscht hätte, hatten die Japaner aber durchaus Panzer auf den Inseln stationiert. Natürlich nicht in irgendwelchen großen Offensiven (wobei das auch vorkam), aber die Dinger waren ja eher leichte Panzer, die mit ihren Geschützen und MGs sehr gefährlich werden konnten. Und notfalls wurden die von den Japanern eingegraben und als Bunker/Abwehrtürme genutzt.
Und diverse Halftracks und Trucks wurden auch von den Amis genutzt. Auch auf Inseln müssen Soldaten versorgt und Geschütze gezogen werden.
Und, zu guter Letzt, ist es halt immer noch eher Spiel denn Simulation. Und ein Halftrack hat mir in mehr als einem Spiel gute Dienste geleistet. Und die kaiserlichen Panzer sind für die Punkte in Ordnung.
Ich finde eher das Warlord Games ihren Azubi durch Lager geschickt haben “ Pack mal ein für eine neue Box für xx £“ …
für die USMC hätte eher ein zippo/ Sturmpanzer gepasst, für die japaner wär ein stahlbunker/ MG oder 47 mm Pak stimmiger gewesen…
Landungsboote im 2. Weltkrieg waren doch auch fähig Panzer zu transportieren. Ich kenne mich im pazifischen Kriegstheater nicht so aus, aber ich könnte mir vorstellen, dass da auch Fahrzeuge gelandet wurden um schwere Waffen, Munition o.ä. zu transportieren. Oder eben Panzer als Feuernterstützung.
Ich war neugierig: Lt. Wiki war der erste Kampfeinsatz des M3 auf den Philippinen. D.h. er wird wohl auch im Pazifikraum weite Verbreitung gefunden haben.
