“Those clankers have tough armor!”
–Clone Commander Cody, Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Baktoid Combat Automata produces a dizzying array of battle droids for the Separatist Droid Army, all designed with one purpose in mind: crush any who would stand between the Separatists and domination of the Star Wars™ galaxy. While most of these models simply replenish the ranks with a seemingly never-ending supply of droids, others—like BX-series Droid Commandos—fill an altogether different role.

Featuring advanced AI not seen in their battle droid cousins, these droids can stand toe-to-toe with the Galactic Republic’s best, even battle-hardened ARC Troopers. Soon, you can make use of your own deadly droids with the BX-series Droid Commandos Unit Expansion for Star Wars™: Legion!

This expansion gives you access to seven highly customizable BX-series Droid Commando miniatures that can be deployed as two distinct units. No matter if you make use of a full unit or a two-droid strike team, your miniatures can be assembled with an array of weapons and gear, including E-5 blaster rifles, vibroswords, and deflector shields. Finally, a BX-series Droid Commando carrying a sniper rifle provides a lethal long-range option while a saboteur spreading poisonous dioxis mines sows chaos across the battlefield.

In addition to deciding how your BX-series Droid Commandos look on the battlefield, you also have to power to customize how they operate. This expansion also contains eight upgrade cards that give you access to additional weapons, training, and more.

Read on for a full look at the BX-series Droid Commandos Unit Expansion!

Superior Programming

BX-series Droid Commandos are a different breed of droid trooper. Manufactured with the ability to operate independently and employ a wide array of tactics, they display a versatility not seen in other droid units. Rather than work wholly on their own, however, droid commandos offer the perfect complement to existing Separatist strategies.

Unlike the often clumsy B1 and B2 battle droids, BX-series Droid Commandos are extremely agile, easily scaling any obstacles that may be present on the battlefield. Add this to their ability to scout ahead with a speed-3 move when they are deployed and these droids can easily take on a variety of roles in your army while the enemy is focused on larger groups of droids laying down heavy fire.

For instance, a full unit of BX-series Droid Commandos can use this move to immediately threaten to an enemy advance, especially if they are armed with some Vibroswords.  Alternatively, the same group could combine their durable design and resistance to piercing attacks with some Deflector Shields to form a highly resilient unit that can pester opponents with a heavy volume of fire from their E-5 blaster rifles.

But the effectiveness of BX-series Droid Commandos doesn’t necessarily depend on a large group’s use of new tools. They can be just as lethal operating in independent pairs that focus on the use of a single heavy weapon miniature. In these instances, you can choose to use your droid commando strike teams at the extremes of the battle, either having them operate at long range or up close to opposing forces.

A BX-series Droid Sniper combines the commando droid’s sharpshooting abilities with the ability to fire from a distance to send enemy troops cowering behind cover. But even then, no one is completely safe. In addition to reducing a defender’s cover by one, this sniper can also spend an aim token to pierce through a block result, making it even more likely for them to land a shot.

Beyond picking off key personnel with a sniper rifle, BX-series Droid Commandos are cunning enough to lay traps for their enemies, cutting off key routes across the battlefield and forcing them to make tough decisions. A Dioxis Mine Saboteur makes things even more perilous, flooding the battlefield with poisonous gas that can inflict extra damage on units damaged by the initial blast.

BX-series Droid Commandos’ advanced AI also afford them benefits not seen in other droids, including the ability to absorb training. This allows them to display a Situational Awareness rare among Separatist troops, perhaps using the dodge token gained from their AI keyword to cancel critical damage results. As a special forces unit, it is critical they can use as many tools as possible, and some EMP “Droid Poppers” can be an effective way for them to slow down enemy vehicles or any other droids they may encounter in the heat of battle.

Wreak Havoc

Programmed for more than just mindlessly marching into battle, BX-series Droid Commandos are a powerful tool in the Separatist Alliance’s war machine. Add them to your army and spread chaos across the battlefield!

Sturmtrooper abzugeben… will aber keiner bisher…

  • Wieder mal sehr coole Droiden! 🙂 Hoffe nur auch, dass die beim Händler mal verfügbar sind…^^
