Up coming British Heavy Dragoons
One of the things Alan’s been working on is the (metal) British Heavy Dragoons for the Peninsular War. At first these started out with the heads fixed apart from the bicorned heads but as Alan wanted to get more head and uniform variants, separate heads seemed the way to cover it. So each figure in each code will have three head options, apart from the officers which will have fixed heads.
There’s a couple of things you might notice; the lack of horse blankets you might expect. These were used when the horses were in low condition and either these or the horse cloths were folded into the shape of the saddle and carried under them, so they didn’t show. Often contemporary pictures, particularly early in the war, show this.
You’ll also see there’s no sabretache as these came in for British Heavy Dragoons in 1812. The KGL will have them as they arrived in the Peninsula in 1812.
