When the first Aranae invasion of Earth was heavily defeated by the Earth’s Warforce Corsair battle suits, the great science houses of the Aranae began to develop new weapons to defeat the humans in battle.

Two main competing ideas emerged — human/aranae hybrids, combining the cunning and resourcefulness of humans with the implacable will and obedience of the Aranae; and genetically engineered colossal cyborgs, essentially biomechanical copies of Corsair suits, called by the humans “Atrox units.”
