Grenadiers a Cheval! Louis XIV founded these toward the end of the Dutch War by picking the best men from the infantry grenadiers. The king was heavily involved in interviewing these men and woe be the regiment commander who didn’t send the very best grenadier to the king.
They needed to be trained in mounted combat but once this was done they were amongst the finest Horse in the world — the only non-noble element of the French Guard Cavalry. These and many other codes will be added soon to our Late 17th century range soon, here’s the url for that:

French Mousquetaires du roi, and we even made the appropriate number of poses! Before the uniform change in the late 1680s, so still wearing the tabard. We also made that other distinctive guard cavalry type, the Grenadiers a Cheval — the rest of the guard cavalry can be built out of the standard codes. Coming soon to our late 17th century range.
