Dropzone Commander: Neuheiten

TTCombat haben Nachschub für Shaltari-Kommandeure.

TTCombat DZC Shaltari Firstborn 01 TTCombat DZC Shaltari Firstborn 02

Firstborns – 10,49 Euro

The Firstborns are unusual amongst the Shaltari, since their spirit still inhabits the original body they were born with. Even as adults, these individuals are impetuous and fiery in the eyes of older Shaltari. Keen to prove themselves both in bravery and in deeds they become an elite cadre of close combat troops. In Shaltari society, there are few better ways of proving one’s bravery in martial terms. Also, their natural aggression and potency serves them well in the crucible of room to room combat, where Firstborns are noted for their savagery and bloodlust.

Equipped with a similar model of Warsuit to ordinary Braves, the Firstborns can overcome their physical limitations to become 8 foot tall towering avatars of destruction. They are armed with Shaltari energy swords, a weapon linked with honour and martial prowess. It’s almost unheard of to see swords actually used in combat anywhere else in the 27th century.

Is there a better room-clearing unit in all of Dropzone Commander? Alright, maybe Eviscerators, but these are a close second! Great at dealing with both heavily and lightly armoured infantry, the Firstborns excel at close quarters battle. With duel Wave Pistols and Energy swords, they can deal out a lot of damage.

However, they can also take a beating. While there are only 3 to a base, Armour 9 and a 4+ Dodge means that most infantry will struggle to damage them in the first place, even before their saving throw. Their Warsuits also have inbuilt Active countermeasures meaning they can safely be out in the open against anti-infantry fire, and also allow them to re-roll Collateral Damage hits, meaning they’re going to survive a long time.

Contains 4 plastic bases of 3 Firstborns each.

Resin miniatures supplied unpainted and unassembled. This kit will require cleaning and assembly, and could need some small holes filled.

TTCombat DZC Shaltari Daimyo 01 TTCombat DZC Shaltari Daimyo 02 TTCombat DZC Shaltari Daimyo 03 TTCombat DZC Shaltari Daimyo 04

Daimyo Battlesuit – 12,99 Euro

With the promise of eternal life if not killed first, the ancient Shaltari can end up fearing death more than any other race. The more times a consciousness is transferred, the more wary a Shaltari can become, which is both a good and a bad thing for a commander. Increased knowledge of tactics and aversion to sacrificing life is a definite positive, but lack of impetus can lead to stagnated battleplans.

Very rarely a younger Shaltari will climb quickly through the ranks, their foolhardiness paying off and shaking up tactics. Shaltari Firstborns that achieve the command of an army will frequently want to take the fight to the enemy, and the Daimyo battlesuit is a chassis that aids those plans.

A personal suit larger than most warsuits but not as large as a Ronin, the Daimyo can accompany troops in building clearing. With a bodyguard of warsuits, the three are armed with Web Projectors which coat their target in a temporary teleport web and produce a short-ranged teleport „shunt“, often used for ejecting enemy troops from buildings to make them vulnerable to anti-infantry fire.

While quick to get into battle, a young Shaltari commander is not reckless, and the Daimyo’s bodyguards use nanobot technology to construct a personal Gate, able to teleport away at a moment’s notice, taking any retinue with them. The Gate isn’t powerful enough for much more though, and will disintegrate after use or if a foolhardy Brave tries to bring larger objects through.

The Daimyo Battlesuit is a very different Commander choice for Shaltari players. While usually focused on keeping their Commanders as safe as possible in heavier chassis like the Coyote or Frostdrake, the Daimyo provides a lightning fast, up close and personal sort of command choice, perfect for smaller games.

And this is one unit that will prove to be the annoyance of all your opponents! With the ability to teleport enemy squads outside of the Garrison they’re in, the Daimyo will be a real thorn in the side of enemy infantry. But before they can retaliate, the Daimyo can simply slip into a Gate and teleport away. Make sure you have lots of Haven Terragates to help it re-emerge and pull the same stunt next round too!

The Daimyo is accompanied by two units of Firstborns, which the commander can join at the start of the game. This is one close combat squad your opponents won’t want to mess with!

Contains one multi-part resin Daimyo and two multi-part resin Firstborn units. All units come with plastic bases.

Resin miniatures supplied unpainted and unassembled. This kit will require cleaning and assembly, and could need some small holes filled.

TTCombat DZC Shaltari Jaguar 01 TTCombat DZC Shaltari Jaguar 02 TTCombat DZC Shaltari Jaguar 03 TTCombat DZC Shaltari Jaguar 04

Aaru Jaguar / Coyote Warstrider – 15,49 Euro

The Aaru theatre of war has been in a holding pattern for a long time. The Cradle World is heavy with human Resistance fighters, busying the Scourge war effort. However, the Shaltari have been seen fighting in increasing numbers, which is rare for the alien race. While they usually favour hit and run tactics with almost piratical forces, their continued assault on Aaru suggests that the system has something of value.

With the increased attacks, the Resistance forces are beginning to see increasingly varied classes of vehicle, most particularly a four-legged variant of the common warstrider. Whether this is a counter to close-up Resistance and Scourge tactics or not is unknown, but the added redundancy of the four-legged Aaru Warstrider certainly helps the platform stay in the fight for longer.

Most commonly the Jaguar is seen, which ties in with UCM observations. With its Gauss Cannon pair and pair of Ion Cannons it is a very versatile vehicle, simultaneously dangerous to ground and air targets. Less common is the Coyote, which trades anti-air firepower for a command module, all the better for observing and directing the flow of battle.

The Aaru Warstrider is a special variant of the standard Warstrider. With structurally incorporated weapons and an extra leg, its reliability outweighs its expense for Shaltari forces. This alternate design for the Jaguar and Coyote is equally survivable with 4 Damage Points and 5+ Passive save.

The Jaguar is the equivalent of a Kukri and two Tomahawks, so if you like consistent damage dealing, this is the Warstrider for you! With Twin Ion Cannons for AA fire and two Gauss Cannons to deal with even the toughest ground targets (Energy 10 and a great range), it can do a bit of everything.

Alternatively with a simple turret swap this kit can build the Coyote. Swapping AA shots for a Command Module, this HQ choice is super-survivable, and not just because it’s on a Warstrider body! The Command Module itself ejects after the Coyote is destroyed, meaning the Commander can survive to direct the battle. Just be sure to get something in to protect the module since it’ll be a prime target for your opponent!

Contains 1 resin miniature with a choice to make an Aaru Jaguar or Coyote. These miniatures are highly detailed, approximately 40mm in height.

Resin miniatures supplied unpainted and unassembled. This kit will require cleaning and assembly, and could need some small holes filled.

Shaltari Starter Army – 44,99 Euro

The alien Shaltari are a race unlike any encountered by humankind. Though short in stature, they are wise beyond anything known. Their technology is so far advanced to be almost indistinguishable from magic, utilising teleportation, gravitic distortion, and even the ability to bypass death.

The Shaltari are a species of duality. Sometimes serene and intelligent beyond measure, they can turn into war hungry creatures, desperate to prove their martial prowess. Using all manner of anti-grav tanks, walkers, exo-suits and aircraft, they are hard to predict and equally deadly. Using teleportation gates they can reposition units at a moment’s notice, making them a frustrating foe.

This box contains a perfect small Shaltari army. With 6 anti-armour Tomahawks, 6 Kukri AA Grav-tanks, and 12 bases of Braves, you have a solid core for an army. There are also 6 Eden Medium Gates and 6 Haven Terragates, which allow your army to teleport around the battlefield.

The army is led by a Daimyo Commander. This leader takes to battle in a medium exo-suit, joining a squad of Braves. While hot-headed and aggressive, the Daimyo makes for a capable Commander, able to teleport around the warzone using a personal Gate constructed from nanobots at a moment’s notice.

This set includes:

  • Plastic Armour & Infantry: These multi-part hard plastic miniatures come on sprues for ease of construction. With easy-to-assemble pieces, you’ll
have your army ready in no time at all. The Haven and Eden Gates can teleport almost every unit in the army, making them a must-have!
  • Resin Command: The Daimyo provides Shaltari players with an inexpensive Command choice, cast in fine detailed resin. This miniature comes in four
pieces (plus a base), and can join a unit of Braves for protection and to get stuck into the fight.
  • Shaltari Fastplay Cards & Template: Designed to get you playing straight away, these cards contain rules for all the units in this box. There is also a quick reference card for the full rules, making gameplay easier. There is also a Dropzone Commander Blast template for any Area effect weapons you might want to use.

Contains 30 multi-part plastic miniatures, 1 resin miniature, 1 acrylic template, and fast play cards. Scenery not included.

Miniatures supplied unpainted and unassembled. This kit will require cleaning and assembly, and could need some small holes filled.
