TTCombat: Weitere Previews

Heute sammeln wir weitere Previews und Bilder aus dem TTCombat-Adventskalender für euch.

Den Anfang machen Neuheiten für Dropzone Commander:

For the last few months we’ve been restocking Dropzone Commander units, making brand new moulds for them and adding in some sneaky extras while we’re at it.

Well, that process is still going, so that means more new units!

TTC Archangel 1 TTC Archangel 2

First of all we’ve got a variant for the UCM’s Archangel.

This brand new unit swaps out the Archangel’s Retributions Cannons with something a whole lot more dangerous looking. We’re still in early playtesting stages yet, but I can tell you that it’s an explosive missile that will be pretty good at bringing buildings down.

TTC Hades

But that’s not all! We also have a sneak peek of a brand new PHR unit. We saw the Nemesis release a few weeks ago, packaged with the new Bellona (which in turn is a standard version of Marcus Barros). Well, the Hades will also be getting a variant when it re-releases next year.

This new version extended the Nanomachine hive of the Hades, making something a lot less direct than the Hades, but no less effective!

TTC Lifthawk

Finally today we have a good old Lifthawk. In addition to remaking moulds for blister packs, we’re also redoing them for the new Starter Armies. We saw the UCM and Scourge Starter Armies release a couple of weeks back, and all of the rest of the factions will be getting theirs in 2020 too.

However, the Resistance have always stood alone a little as their Starter Army is made of resin. At the moment we’re continuing that on (the sheer amount of detail on the vehicles lends itself well to resin rather than plastic), but in an effort to make Resistance as affordable to start as any other faction, we’re making some changes to the models in the set.

This version of the Lifthawk should be coming in only two parts! Having fewer parts means the Starter Army will be playable a lot quicker, and cutting down on moulds means that we can cram more into the box.

Außerdem gab es das Schlachtschiff der neuen Resistance-Flotte zu sehen:

Actually, that’s a lie, because we have two things for you Dropfleet players today!

First of all, how about a Resistance Battleship?

TTC Angle 1a TTC Sidea TTC Front

This is the Eden class Grand Battleship. It’s done up in Kalium colours to match the rest of the fleet. Armed with 4 9K Mass Driver Turrets and two Mega Vent Cannon Batteries, it packs quite a punch! Not to mention the massive Torpedo.

This is only one version of the Grand Battleship, there are loads more too! First of all, you can swap the weapons out to make the Elysium/Trident version.

TTC Angle 2 1

Behold, the Elysium class! This one swaps the Broadsides out. No more Mega Vent Cannons, instead the more reliable N-12 Artillery Cannon Batteries.

That’s not all that can be swapped around in this kit though. While not quite as modular as the Cruisers, we kept the modular design all the same.

TTC Angle 3

You can build it backwards too!

The prow and engines are separate and connect on the same kind of join, which means you can flip them over. There’s a new cockpit on this one too, which can go on in one of three different places on the ship!

What’s more, the kit will come with two prow and two engine options, as well as three cockpit/keel options. We’re not showing those off yet though, you’ll have to wait to see the miniatures.

This massive kit (it’s close to a Dreadnought in size) will be out in early 2020, along with the Resistance Battlecruiser. We’ll have more of that to show off in the new year too.

Advent Scenarios

Until then though, I’m sure you want to play with your spaceships over the Xmas holidays, right?

Well, we’ve written up three special scenarios for you to play. They’re designed with some of the newer releases in mind, incorporating Resistance Fleets, Dreadnoughts, and Monitors to make thematic scenarios that tell an interesting story and let you use your fleets in new ways.

Außerdem gab es zuletzt Errata und FAQs für Dropzone und Dropfleet Commander.

We’re happy to announce the FAQ & Errata for Dropfleet Commander is now complete and ready to be used.

Earlier this week we announced the release of the FAQ & Errata, it is finally ready to be released into the wild for you all to use in your games of Dropfleet Commander.

Community Errata

Anyone with an eye on the Dropfleet Community will see some very familiar things in here! We’ve seen the great effect the Community Errata has had on the game, and have chatted to its creators for a long time about what changes they made and we really love lots of them! We are big fans of that and we really, really appreciate the great efforts the people involved in that have made.

There are also some things in the Community Errata that didn’t make it through to the official one. Things like changes to Ground Combat scoring work very well, but are quite a large departure from your Dropfleet Rulebook, and we don’t want that to gather dust! Still, all of the ideas brought to us from the Community Errata and other members of the Dropfleet community at large are great, and we’ve filed many of them away for *ahem* future use.

Does this mean the end for the Community Errata? Certainly not. We encourage any players who want to play an edition geared far more towards experienced and competitive players to give it a go.  It’s been written by some of the real expert players of the game and is worth a look.

So What Is In It?

Well, you’ll find a few key changes to rules from the Dropfleet rulebook, including issues flagged up long ago, and some newer things.

We’ve made some updates to Torpedoes to make them a bit more useful, and a re-write to the Air-to-Air rule which makes more sense now hopefully!

There’s also a section specifically for Battle for Earth, with a couple of Traffic Jameses edited out (bye bye Escort, we barely knew you), and clarifications to other rules too.

After the Errata section you’ll find the FAQs. This is an exhaustive list of answers to questions from the past several years of Dropfleet gaming, as well as new ones to help with BFE too.

A lot of these questions are answered in the way that we feel best works in games, and makes for a balanced experience.

I Thought X Worked Differently! NOOOO

Don’t worry! The FAQ & Errata is a living document. We’re taking feedback from players all the time. We’ve written and tested our answers, but we welcome more comments from everyone. If you like something, let us know! If you don’t like something, we want to know that too! If you have suggestions for changes or extra questions, please get in touch. We love to chat all things Dropfleet, and want to keep working to make this the best game we can.

What About Ships?

All ship stats can be found in our brand new Fleet Builder.

Ship stats from both the Dropfleet Rulebook and Battle for Earth are still perfectly playable, but the online builder will be updated periodically to bring better balance to all forces. Keep an eye out and we’ll have more information and changes to the builder as time goes on.

So without further ado:

Dropfleet Commander Battle for Earth FAQ & Errata.
