Trail Wagon / Chuck Wagon -28mm -je 6,50 GBP
The covered trail wagon was long the dominant form of transport in pre-industrial America. With roots in the heavy Conestoga wagon developed for the rough, undeveloped roads and paths of the colonial East, the covered wagon spread west with American migration and became iconic in western movies and historically during the American War of Independence.
A chuckwagon is a type of „field kitchen“ covered wagon historically used for the storage and transportation of perishable food and cooking equipment on the prairies of the United States and Canada. Such wagons formed part of a wagon train of settlers or fed travelling workers such as cowboys or loggers.
Every wagon train of trail wagons needs a chuck wagon. Its like poetry.
Armoured Stagecoach ‚War Wagon‘ (28mm) – 10,00 GBP
This week also sees the Armoured Stagecoach or „war wagon“ ideal for transporting that special gold shipment. Ours is a heavily armoured and armed with a deadly Gatling gun in a top-mounted steerable turret. Perfect!
Keelboat (28mm) – 10,00 GBP
A Keelboat is a type of water barge that is built about a slight keel and is designed as a boat built for the navigation of rivers, shallow lakes, and sometimes canals. Commonly used in America including use in great numbers by settlers making their way west to the wide-open western American frontiers. Used extensively for transporting cargo to market, and for exploration and trading expeditions, via water transport this was the most effective means to move bulky or heavy cargo.
Cable Ferry (28mm) -10,00 GBP
A cable ferry is a ferry that is guided across a river or large body of water by cables connected to both shores. Early cable ferries often used either rope or steel chains, with the latter resulting in the alternate name of chain ferry.
Cable ferries are common where there is little other water-borne traffic that could get snagged in the cable or chains, where the water may be too shallow for other options, or where the river current is too strong to permit the safe crossing of a ferry not attached to the shore. Alignment of the platform at each end of the journey is automatic and safer than a free-moving ferry might be in bad conditions.
