We are very pleased to release more codes for our 15mm Mongol and Timurid ranges — dismounted Mongol archers, and hostage screens as well.

The Mongols are famed for being virtual centaurs, but that didn’t stop them from dismounting to shoot when the situation required, such as to take a field fortification, attacking from boats or ships, in desperate defense, or to face elephants. They, and their Timurid descendants, also had the very unfortunate policy of driving rounded up civilians in front of their army to soak up the arrows of the enemy and make him reluctant to attack. Our models represent Muslim peasants of the 13-15 centuries — Middle Eastern populations were the primary victims of this behavior — the men being yoked to prevent them from resisting.
