Bertrand du Guesclin, Constable of France and arguably the most effective military commander of the mid Hundred Years’ War period. Sometimes called “the Eagle of Brittany,” he was instrumental in the resurgence of France after the disasters of Crecy and Poitiers. This model will be in a set of French commanders to be released soon.
Swedish mounted arquebusier from the late 16th century, for the Livonian War. I understand from Daniel Staberg that they were no longer called “Skytter” but were just the worst-armoured men of the cavalry, sent off to skirmish with a karbin. This range is about to be released.
Landsryttare, the heavy cavalry pistoliers of the early Vasa Swedish army. Horse such as these would have taken on the swarms of Muscovite cavalry in Ivan the Terrible’s armies during the Livonian War. Unlike Reiters, they did not wear armour on their arms. Because of shortages of cavalry helmets many of them had to be issued with infantry helmets instead.
