Here’s hoping that Da Red Gobbo gave you all of the loot and gubbinz you wanted (and not socks perforated with shoota fire “fer targit praktis”). We’ve got some more presents for you right here, with a glimpse at what’s on the way over the holiday period and into the New Year…
War in the Clouds
First up, there’s trouble brewing in the skies above the Mortal Realms.
With two new battletomes and a battlebox featuring two new Heroes landing in January, 2020 is starting with style in the Mortal Realms.
The Endrinmaster with Dirigible Suit is the first unnamed airborne Hero for the Kharadron Overlords – great for keeping up with your skyvessels and leading your plucky Endrinriggers into battle.
The Magister on Disc of Tzeentch specialises in transforming enemy models into Chaos Spawn, which is both tactically useful and pleasing to Tzeentch, while his nine-bladed disc allows him to keep pace with your Tzaangor Enlightened and Screamers of Tzeentch.
Both the Disciples of Tzeentch and the Kharadron Overlords are also getting new battletomes, bringing them roaring into the Soul Wars with a host of competitive and thematic new options and ways to customise your force. Expect to see more on these in the next few days (just as planned).
The Ritual of the Damned Begins!
As the Thousand Sons prepare to enact their dread rites, two of the most venerable Chapters of the Adeptus Astartes take up their blades to defy Magnus’ sons and halt their sorcerous schemes.
At the head of the Dark Angels forces is Master Lazarus – former Sergeant, now Captain of the Dark Angels 5th Company! For those of you who remember The Wrath of Magnus, Lazarus was laid low by the fell sorcery of the XV Legion. Reborn as the first Primaris Space Marine of the Inner Circle, he’s back with a dark vengeance and an even deeper hatred for psykers.
Fighting alongside the Dark Angels are the Sons of Titan, whose prognosticators have foreseen the future evildoing on the twin homeworlds of the Thousand Sons. All of this will be covered in the next instalment of Psychic Awakening, which also contains rules for all three of these factions.
For the Dark Angels, this book brings the Chapter into line with recent Space Marines updates, and also includes lots of juicy new rules content, especially for Deathwing and Ravenwing commanders.
The Grey Knights get plenty of new tricks too, including a particularly powerful new ability called Masters of the Warp, which rewards you for taking a dedicated army of Grey Knights, channelling a specific aspect of the warp to provide an army-wide bonus.
The Thousand Sons can now dedicate their Sorcerers to one of the nine Cults of the Legion – a callback to their arcane roots on fallen Prospero – providing them with a plethora of new tactical options.

Mhh im Vergleich zu den letzten Jahren ist das aber eine ganz maue Weihnachtsankündigung -.-
Die AoS Helden sind nicht meins, aber Master Lazarus sieht gut aus.

Die große GW Weihnachtsankündigung ist dieses Jahr für mich sehr mau ausgefallen.
Ein Kharadron vs. Tzeentch Spielset für AoS mit einer eher ungünstigen Zusammenstellung (eben keine Einsteigerarmeen sondern mit Minis, um bestehende Armeen zu vergrößern). Dazu dann je einen neuen Helden und es kommen neue Battletomes.
Und bei 40k bekommen die Dark Angels einen stinknormalen Primaris Captain. Juhu…
Ihr müsst halt bedenken, dass am 4. Januar der nächste Open Day ist und da dann einiges angekündigt wird.
Ich fand die Ankündigung der zwei neuen Battletomes übrigens nicht wenig. Die Box ist auch okay. Mich stört an diesen Boxen nur, dass man die Charaktere dann ewig nur über diese Boxen oder eBay bekommt.
Der Sylvaneth und Goblin Squigreiterchef sind auch bis heute nicht regulär erhältlich.
Die Ankündigung für AoS ist absolut klasse – die Echsen sind jetzt die Letzten, die noch ein Buch brauchen und dann ist das ganze Spiel Versionsaktuell und durchgebalanced. Sehr cool!

Ist das wirklich so, ich habe es bisher links liegen lassen weil mir jeder sagt das es so was wie balancing bei AOS nicht gibt. Würde einfach nur noch mal hören wollen was da aktuell stand der Dinge ist.
Ist nicht besser oder schlechter „gebalanced“ als jedes andere GW-Spiel auch. Gibt immer mal starke ausreißer nach oben oder unten, aber solange du eine entspannte Gruppe hast sollte es gehen. Für Turniere würde ich es nicht empfehlen.
Ach herrje. 🙄 Meiner Kenntnis nach gibt es eben gerade nicht diese „starken Ausreißer“ und tatsächlich habe ich auch noch nie eine solche Beschwerde im reallife gehört, aber ich habe auch keine Lust hier jetzt sonst was zu triggern. ❤️😬 Jede Fraktion ist meines Wissens nach jedenfalls wunderbar spielbar und gerade erst kamen die Winter-FAQ’s mit Punkteupdates für alle – allgemein sehr positiv aufgenommen, wie mir schien. Die Turniere scheinen mir gut besucht und die Fraktions-Platzierungen variieren stark. Kurzum, ich halte den Stand des Spiels für besonders positiv, aber das ist ja nur meine Meinung. 😀👍

@Ian: Keine Sorge, ich hab auch nichts gegen das Spiel. Aber „gut gebalanced“ ist halt immer Geschmackssache. 😁 Ich glaub da wird man nie einer Meinung sein.

Ich bin ein wenig „unterwältigt“, da ich gehofft hatte, dass nach Jain Zarr, Drazhar und Mephiston nun auch ein Dark Angels Charakter (z. B. Azrael oder Ezekiel) im Rahmen des Psionic Awakening ein Remake erhält. Stattdessen gibt es halt Lazarus, der erste Firsborn, der innerhalb der Dark Angels den Rubikon überschritten hat, und zu einem Primaris umoperiert wurde. Eine interessante Wahl, wobei Bruder Apharan (der erste Awaken, der in den Deathwing aufgenommen wurde) für mich persönlich eine interessantere Option gewesen wäre. Aber Lazarus wurde ja beim Kampf ums Fenris System von den Thousand Sons so schwer verwundet, dass er für die Umwandlung ausgewählt wurde und da es in diesem Band um den Kampf DA/GK vs. TS geht, passt er von der Story wohl eher rein (hat halt noch eine Rechnung zu begleichen). Bin gespannt, ob er nur das normale Primaris Captain Profil bekommt oder noch ein paar nette Goodies oder Sonderregeln, um sich wirklich hervor zu heben.
Während ich das Geschrieben habe, konnte ich mich doch sogar mit der Figur anfreunden; zu mal sie eine gute Basis für einen Azrael Umbau darstellt. Denke schon, dass ich sie mir kaufen werde und dazu das Buch, da hier ähnlich wie bei meinen Blood Angels die Dark Angels ein Update auf die aktuellen Regel der Space Marines (Litaneien der Chaplains, Kampfdoktrinen etc.) bekommen werden. Und GK habe ich ja auch noch hier. 🙂
Au weia, der Mechanicus-Zwerg ist nichts für meinen Geschmack. Der Tzeentch-Hexer sieht okay aus – wenn es ihn irgendwann mal einzeln gibt werde ich ihn mir eventuell als Malprojekt holen. Als Anreiz um AoS wieder noch mal eine Chance zu geben taugt die Box aber nicht.
Mich erinnert der Hexer an Pete von Ruthe.de (https://www.myspass.de/media/images/videos/95/1095_640x360.jpg), kann damit leider nichts anfangen. Mal schauen, was der Open Day bringt. Heute komme ich günstig davon.
Ich finde die AoS Box garnicht sooo schlecht. Vieleicht werden die Balloon Boys ja Battleline mit dem neuen Helden.
Der Dämonen Anteil ist für TS Spieler ganz nett.
Kein guter Einstieg, aber ich mag die Minis und das Thema.
Ich freue mich, wenn die nächsten Warcry Minis kommen 🙂
Wirklich schade, dass „Made to order“ jetzt auch von den Preiserhähungen betroffen ist. Früher galten die da alten Preise, aber jetzt kosten die Figuren aus dem alten Starterset mehr als früher die ganze Box.
