Z War One: Exodus Kickstarter
Der taktische Überlebenskampf während einer Zombie-Apokalypse für 1-5 Spieler soll mit Z War One: Exodus über Kickstarter realisiert werden.
Z War One – Exodus
Exodus is a survival horror game for 1-5 players that combines intense tactical combat, resource management and a comic book narrative.
About
Z War One – Exodus is a standalone game for 1-5 players that combines intense tactical combat, resource management and an engaging comic book narrative.
The Kickstarter edition of the game comes jam packed with four different game modes, including 2 separate comic book campaigns & two difficulty settings. Ultra high quality components, plastic coated cards & finely detailed miniatures make this the ultimate survival horror experience!
The Exodus comic book campaign, which can be played either solo, or 2 player co-operative (for 4 player co-op details see „Kickstarter“ section), sees players taking on the roles of two war veterans, stranded on an island ravaged by a rapidly mutating super virus. Their perilous journey will take them from infested towns and harbors, to the claustrophobic corridors of an abandoned cargo ship and even out onto the open water, where untold horrors lurk.
The comic weaves a narrative around the missions in the manner of a video game cutscene
Comic book „cut scenes“ link the increasingly challenging missions as the heroes work to complete objectives across a variety of hostile locations. Resources roll over from one mission to the next, so they will need to scour the environment for ammunition & craftable items to build & replenish their inventory.
The more time that is taken over your shots, the greater your accuracy. When ammunition is limited every bullet counts.
The „pregame lobby“ feature allows players to level up their heroes between missions, choosing from a wide array of available „perks“. They may also freely craft items, reload weapons and assign equipment. At this point, players also have the option to „save“ the game, but choose your save point wisely, as there are just 3 available save tickets for the 7 chapter campaign.
Hop aboard a rib and head out into the open water for a terrifying tussle with the aquatic Reavers!
The above tutorial video shows the basics of Exodus game play, for more detail you can download the work in progress version of the Exodus Rule Book here: Part 1 & Part 2
The 2-5 player Director Mode is a game variation which allows an extra player to take on the roll of „the director“. Through the use of director cards, this player can stack the odds against the heroes, manipulating spawning, pacing & enemy behavior to suit their own evil design. A director can even be added to the campaign, but only if you’re feeling brave!
The Kickstarter edition of Exodus comes complete with the intense & emotionally charged „Dark Tide“ expansion. Experience the terror of the initial outbreak from the perspective of two desperate parents, fighting to get their daughter to safety.
This ferociously tough prequel campaign introduces new characters, locations & monsters to the Exodus roster!
Dark Tide also includes the 2-4 player „Renegade Mode“. Work individually or as a team to collect as many loot cards as possible, use director cards to hinder your opponent’s progress. If you are taken down, continue your fight from beyond the grave, using your freshly infected hero to tear apart the opposition!
Utilising elements from the base game, expansion & all unlocked stretch goals, the „The Kickstarter Cut“ is an expanded & extended version of the Exodus campaign.
This game mode is balanced for playing with either 2 or 4 heroes & is exclusive to this Kickstarter!
The miniatures are created using 3D sculpting techniques. They are then 3D printed and cast in polyurethane resin (near identical to Forgeworld and Warlord resin) or metal. We will confirm your material choice through the pledge manager.
To add an „add on“ to your pledge simply increase your pledge by the stated amount, your selections will be confirmed in the pledge manager.
Z War One – Damnation was the first Z War Game we made, you do not need it, or any of it’s components to play Z War One – Exodus. You can find out more about Damnation on BGG hereand on the previouscampaign page.
The game is currently available in English. Later in the campaign if there is enough interest from our foreign backers we will add a stretch goal for translated versions of the rule book & cards for some or all of the following languages: French, German, Spanish & Italian.
Shipping will be charged after the campaign finishes and will be subsidised for all areas. Approximate rates are as follows:
- UK (£5 – £7)
- EU / USA / Canada (£10 – £12)
- Rest of the world (£20 – £25)
We will begin shipping pledges as soon as our copies arrive and we expect to have dispatched all pledges within a month of them arriving. Obviously our time scales are subject to change but we believe we have padded our estimates enough to account for this. Our products will ship from within the EU so as it stands there will be no import taxes etc for our EU, USA, Australian & Canadian backers.
Risks and challenges
So this is not our first project, we successfully funded and fulfilled Z War One Damnation 2 years ago & since then we have been building solid working relationships with professional, trustworthy suppliers. Over the last couple of years we have also built a solid reputation in manufacturing and prototyping, working alongside many other UK companies on their respective projects.
As with all Kickstarters there is the chance that we may encounter an unforeseen problem, however we feel we have padded our delivery estimates to sufficiently counter this and hope to ship well before the estimated ship date. As we have mentioned in the “Shipping” section any and all updates regarding both production and delivery will be posted as a Backer Update here and be 100% transparent. We’re committed to keeping you all in the loop.
