The Horus Heresy: Legions lands on iOS and Android
Got an iOS or Android digital device? Like card games based on your favourite universe? Good news: the new Horus Heresy digital card game is out now. Here are developers Everguild to tell us more.
The Horus Heresy: Legions is a digital card game based on the Black Library’s New York Times bestselling novel series. It’s fast and it’s brutal, as only a game pitting Space Marine against Space Marine could be. It is now available on Android and iOS devices, offering cross-platform play, so you can even get it on both platforms and use the same card collection! You can download the game now from the App Store and from Google Play.
Game Mechanics
Let the galaxy burn or fight for the Emperor, choosing from dozens of playable Warlords, from unsung heroes like Captain Ehrlen to legendary Primarchs like Fulgrim. Build a deck of 30 cards and play fast, edge-of-your-seat duels online in one versus one turn-based card battles.
You will find each Legion has a strong sense of identity, with defining aspects of each one expressed through gameplay mechanics. Case in point, the Emperor’s Children have cards with an ability called Perfection – a card with the Perfection ability triggers additional effects if all remaining Energy was spent to play it. In other words, they are rewarded for playing a perfect turn in perfect order with perfect resource management.
Despite the Emperor’s disapproval, you will be able to join a Warrior Lodge. You will meet other players there, with whom you’ll be able to talk strategy, fight for greater game rewards and spar in the training cages. It’s up to you how much glory you want to bring to your Lodge.
The Isstvan III Campaign
The game begins letting you play through Loken’s ordeal on Isstvan III, and experience the Warmaster’s betrayal first hand: charge on the Isstvanian rebels at the Choral City, fight your way towards a shelter to survive the virus bombing, link up with Captain Tarvitz and defend the ruins of Praal’s stronghold until the bitter end, all in hopes it will give Garro more time to warn the Emperor of this treachery.
The Road to Terra
Bring your best deck to battle other players in ranked seasons. Follow the Warmaster’s trail from Isstvan III, facing ever-stronger opponents in a race for Terra, where the top players battles for supremacy.
Epic Events
Shape the future of the game by taking part in periodic Events based on the Black Library novels, including exclusive Warlords with amazing abilities and new strategies to master. Fight for your favourite faction, scoring points for it with every win. The winning side at the end of each Event unlocks a permanent, game-changing effect!
Isstvan V LegionsThe first content expansion just arrived! It begins with a roll-out of new Legions, starting with the Loyalists that led the initial assault on Isstvan V. Expect the Iron Hands, the Salamanders and the Raven Guard to bring their own unique gameplay mechanics, playable Primarchs and storylines to follow in a series of game Events based on the infamous Dropsite Massacre.
You can download The Horus Heresy: Legions now from Apple’s App Storeand the Google Play store on Android. And if you want to find out more about the Horus Heresy, Black Library’s novel series is a great place to start – we’d recommend Horus Rising.
