Super Star Destroyer Expansion pack – 199,95 USD
The Super Star Destroyer Expansion Pack arrives to swell the forces of the Galactic Empire with the first ship of an entirely new class—huge ships. Unparalleled Size
It’s immediately plain from the size of the Super Star Destroyer alone that this miniature is something special, unlike anything that has yet flown onto your table in Star Wars: Armada. In fact, the Super Star Destroyer is so large that it’s supported by one ship token placed on top of two standard large ship bases!
We’ve already mentioned that the introduction of the Super Star Destroyer also marks the introduction of a new class of ships: huge ships. And this new class of ship has powers that reach far beyond mere size. For instance, the Super Star Destroyer features a total of six firing arcs—supplementing the standard front, rear, left, and right firing arcs with brand-new right-auxiliary and left-auxiliary firing arcs. And as you might expect, a huge ship like the Super Star Destroyer increases its attack powers to go with its extra firing arcs. The Super Star Destroyer can make up to three attacks from different firing arcs every round of the game.
The Super Star Destroyer has six distinct firing arcs—forward, left, left-auxiliary, rear, right, and right-auxiliary.
If the time for you to launch your attack has not yet arrived, huge ships also have the unique ability to pass. Once per round, when you would have to activate the Super Star Destroyer, you can choose instead to pass, allowing your opponent to activate another ship. Although the Super Star Destroyer must still activate each round, the ability to pass and delay your activation temporarily can lead your opponent directly into your trap.
Even the command dials you assign to a Super Star Destroyer become more powerful. When you resolve one of these command tokens, you’ll also assign the corresponding command token to your ship! By getting more impact out of every command dial you assign to the Super Star Destroyer, you’ll be prepared to take on the entire enemy fleet on your own.
Unmatched Firepower
All of the advantages we’ve described so far are common to every huge ship—but the Super Star Destroyer has plenty of power to offer on its own merits. The cheapest way for you to field the Super Star Destroyer is by spending 220 points for the Star Dreadnought Command Prototype.
With eight attack dice from its forward firing arc, six ship tokens, a hull value of twenty-two, and nine upgrade slots, the Star Dreadnought Command Prototype offers a truly jaw-dropping addition to an Imperial fleet. And each of the other ship variants in the Super Star Destroyer Expansion Pack is even more expensive and even more powerful than the Star Dreadnought Command Prototype!
Still, it’s not purely the ship that makes the Super Star Destroyer Expansion Pack so impressive. There’s also a wealth of upgrade cards that are sure to be valuable to Imperial players across the galaxy, including the debut of Emperor Palpatine himself as a commander in Star Wars: Armada.
If you want to have the Emperor bless your efforts with his presence, it won’t come easily—Emperor Palpatine costs 35 points to equip as a commander for your Imperial forces. Still, his effects can be deadly as you work to pick apart and destroy your opponent’s defenses. After you deploy fleets, you’ll place one defense token of each type on Emperor Palpatine. Before any ships activate in a round, you can discard one of these tokens. For the rest of the round, if any enemy ship or squadron would spend a matching token, they must discard it instead!
By spending the brace token from Emperor Palpatine, you can force your opponent to discard any brace tokens he wishes to use this round!
In a fashion that’s truly fitting of the Sith Lord, you can manipulate your opponent’s actions with Emperor Palpatine. If you choose wisely, you may limit your opponent’s options and leave his plans in ruins, as he must choose to lose his most important defense tokens permanently or watch his ships disintegrate under the massive attacks of your Super Star Destroyer.

Kann der wirklich nur geradeaus fliegen?
Ich spiel Armada zwar schon länger nicht mehr, aber ich meine es gab Upgrades, welche die Manövrierfähigkeit erhöhten und über den Manöverbefehl erhöht man die Wendigkeit ja auch. Aber besonders agil ist der Pott nicht und bei der Größe kann ich mir auf dem Tisch mit Gelände irgendwie schwer vorstellen den noch vernünftig zu spielen.
Hmmm…so geil, wie ich die Executor auch finde. Bei mir ist es der Preis (und die anzunehmende wenig sinnvolle Verwendung im Spiel), der da das K.O. ausmacht. Da bekommt das Adeptus Titanicus Set gestern eine ganz neue Wertigkeit. (Oder unser Hobby wird immer teurer…)

Also. Die Executor bzw. der Super Star Destroyer ist ein Modell, was ich immer schon einmal haben wollte. Und die Minis von Fantasy Flight sind eigentlich allesamt sehr gut Pre Paint bemalt.
Allerdings finde ich 199 Dollar auch als zu hoch. Das Ding ist ja in etwa so lang wie 3 ISDs von Armada – und die kosten um die 40 Euro pro Stück. Also ich denke, dass hier ein Preis von 120 bis 150 Dollar eher angebracht gewesen wäre. Mit 199 will man definitiv noch einmal Extra-Kohle abgreifen, von allen, die so ein Schiff haben wollen.
Ich muss da auch arg in mich gehen. Wie gesagt – haben wollte ich ein gutes Modell vom SSD schon immer. Aber Knapp 200 Dollar – und damit wohl Euro – sind schon eine verdammt harte Ansage.
(Und wie andere schon sagten: Da wirken die 230 für die Titanicus Box auf einmal gar nicht mehr so schlimm…)
Ich würde nicht automatisch sagen dass sie mehr Kohle abgreifen wollen (du sagst das mit einem Selbstverständnis als ob du den absoluten Einblick in die Zahlen hättest).
Für mich klingt es mehr nach Angebot und Nachfrage. Sie rechnen damit, dass weniger Leute dieses Schiff kaufen, also muss jede verkaufte Einheit mehr Gewinn abwerfen um rentabel zu sein.
Für 199€ hat sich ein Ex-Arbeitskollege – meines Wissens – vor vielen Jahren die Lego-Executor zu Weihnachten geschenkt, das Teil ist knapp über einen Meter lang… hätte ich mir damals auch zulegen sollen… (:-(
Denn sinnvoll einsetzen im Spiel kann man das Teil wohl eher nicht, zum einen, weil es alles unter einem Todesstern aus dem All bläst und man keine Sporthalle als Spielfeld hat, wo man vernünftig damit navigieren kann… oder will man dem Ding den Wenderadius eines Tie geben…?
Du begehst hier zwei Denkfehler:
Erstens beträgt der SRP der ISD 50$, nicht 40$. Ja, die 40 ist teilweise der STraßenpreis. Bei einem Preisvergleich sollte man aber immmer von gleichen VOrraussetzungern ausgehen. Da wir für die SSD noch keine Straßenpreise haben, bleibt nur der SRP (Also 200$ zu 50$)
Dann gehst Du bei deiner Preisfindung von einem reinen Größenvergleich aus. Die ISD passt dreimal in eine SSD. Das geht halt komplett an der Realität vorbei. Denn im Umkehrschluss bedeutet dies auch, das man für die SSD dreimal so viel Formen benötigt. Dies aber bei einer geringeren verkauften Stückzahl.
Nehmen wir mal einen Wert von 20.000$ je Form an und zwei Formen, die für einen ISD benötigt werden.
Dann liegen wir bei 40.000$ Formkosten für den ISD, egal, ob man einen, tausend oder 5000 produziert.
Für die SSD werden dann 6 Formen a 20.000$ (oder halt zwei entsprechend große, hier skalliert der Preis eher nachteilig) benötigt. Wir sind also bei 120.000$ Formenkosten.
Ich behaupte ja nicht, dass der SSD ein Schnapp ist (das ist er nicht, im Gegenteil), aber solche Milchmädchenrechnungen sind halt komplett an der Realität vorbei.
Oder gehst Du hin und sagst auch: Ein GW Knight ist doppel so hoch wie ein Rhino, also darf er auch nur knapp 50€ kosten?
Das sollte auch keine Vergleichsrechnung sein. Ich wollte nur ausdrücken, dass mir ein Preis von 120 bis 150 Euro besser gefallen hätte. Von daher hättest du dir mit deinem langen Post keine so große Mühe machen brauchen. Ich weiß das alles selber.
FFG wird mit dem SSD eh einen guten Schnitt machen, denn das Modell in der Qualität werden viele haben wollen. Mich eingeschlossen.

200$ für ein langes Stück Plastik das echt nicht aufwendig modelliert ist? Beim besten willen nicht.
Die Details benötigen schon einiges an Formfläche und ganz so einfach wie du vorgibst ist das Modell auch nicht.
Meh, das ist ja nicht to scale. Und das sieht man leider mit den ISDs daneben auch recht deutlich.
Die Bewegen sich in den Filmen ja auch nicht gerade viel, vielleicht kannst dann mit zwei Tischen spielen und man spingt mit dem Ding dann per Hyperraumsprung von Tisch zu Tisch. 🙂
Wie immer bei Armada sind die Maßstäbe bloß relativ.
Bei diesem Pott auch nicht auf dem Spielfeld darzustellen, da er sonst 4 m lang wäre oder so. 🤔

Das Ding ist halt einfach Nerdservice von FFG.
Es gibt sicher viele Fans und Spieler, die sich einfach freuen werden das Ding zu benutzen (bei wirklich großen Spielen). Von daher schöne Sache, kann man sich für die Spieler freuen.
Wobei ich glaube, dass der auch für Star Wars Sammler interessant ist, die einfach nur das Modell haben wollen.
