The late 17th Century was the birth of the grenadier — the biggest, strongest men were chosen so they could throw the bombs further! They led the column of march so had to be the bravest men as well. This is how the grenadiers came to be an elite force within the infantry.

The first type we’ve had made is in a fur cap but other hat variations will be made as well. These are painted as English.

French “Archers” WIP for our Italian Wars range, which will focus on the period of the most intense battles, from Ravenna to the sack of Rome.
