EXO – Mankind Reborn: Kickstarter läuft

Plast Craft Games möchte ein Co-Op-Brettspiel mithilfe eines Kickstarters realisieren.

Projektbeschreibung:

EXO: Mankind Reborn is a fully cooperative survival game where players will take their heroes on a series of quests to bring back the human race onto the surface of the world. Play two different campaigns designed for 1-2 and 3-4 players, and discover the cause behind the disasters that forced humanity to shelter underground for centuries.

Die Welt von EXO:

At the turn of the Millennium, humankind was racing towards an unimaginable convolution of natural disasters: tsunamis, earthquakes, hurricanes, heat waves… The Earth, we realized, was coming to an end.

The brightest minds united to find solutions for the problems of of the energy crisis and to attempt to restore the balance of the world. After years of research a new source was discovered: Exoenergy. But in the meantime the energy dependency of the nations has lead to an irreversible situation.

Spread over vast distances, several research teams each specialized in a different aspect of this new energy form. But before they finished their work a succession of great cataclysms, with unknown cause hit humankind in an all devastating blow. The world as we knew it has ended and forced humanity to take refuge in isolated underground cavern systems, organizing themselves in “tribes”.

Over hundreds of years in deep isolation from the ravaged surface of the Earth, something started to changed. Each tribe, under leadership of the old researchers and their descendents, started to form a symbiosis with native animal populations and the Exoenergy itself. The shape of human and animal had changed and became advanced by the united affords of the last of us.

But we could not endure forever in the darkness deep below. Old technology broke, resources were slowly consumed, and in the year 2950 the council of the elders had decided to ascend once again onto the face of the planet to ensure the survival of humanity.

But we were not the only one who changed in all that time… new and wild species have conquered and dominated the world while we were gone: bugs.

OUR SPECIES LAST HOPE

EXO energy reserves are about to run out and selected heroes from different parts of the world unite on an expedition to guarantee the future of humanity.

Das Spiel:

EXO is not a miniature game. This is a game with miniatures in which resource management and the depth of the mechanics bring it closer to a Eurogame.

GAME MECHANICS

Each game round consists of four phases: Disaster, Resource, Production, Action and Night. We will explain them briefly below…

• Disasters – During this phase, we will determine with a dice roll how the climatology will affect the environment, how the environment’s fauna will behave, and also how the climate will affect our Exoanimals. All this will be detailed in quick reference tables for each mission.
• Resource Production – During this phase players will produce exoenergy and a variety of resources. To do so our heroes will be able to assemble different buildings that will be represented by extraction tiles. At the beginning of the turn, each player will take a resource off each tile he has on the board and store it, if possible, in his backpack if they are resources, or in the exoenergy pool of his/her exoanimal, in the case of exoenergy.
• Actions – During this phase, players must decide which actions they will be performing both with their heroes and with their exoanimals.
