Crooked Dice: Children of the Fields Kickstarter
Der neue Kickstarter von Crooked Dice läuft.
WHAT’S THE CAMPAIGN?
We hope to fund twenty or more 28mm folk horror miniatures – the Children of the Fields. While these will complement the existing Crooked Dice range and 7TV skirmish rules, they are suitable for any fantasy, horror or modern gaming settings.
The miniatures have been brought to life by the sculpting talents of Ernst Veingart, Steve Saleh, Andrew May, Iain Colwell and Paolo Fabiani.
If we are successful, we have a number of stretch goals that will give backers the opportunity to purchase extra Add Ons for more magnificent and malevolent miniatures – including three large resin models.
In addition, the campaign will help fund production of a supporting 7TV Programme Guide and profile cards to allow you to play a Children of the Fields cast.
All miniatures are supplied unpainted.
SO WHO ARE THE CHILDREN OF THE FIELDS?
The Children of the Fields is the name given to the occupants of the peculiar village of Winterly. It seems a place out of time, with no trappings of modern technology.
The community, led by Lady Sylvia Winterly, has an innate grasp of the wild forces of nature, each member’s talent manifesting in its own peculiar way. It is rumoured that some can command the crops or even bring the very scarecrows to life! Others say that the villagers practice pagan rites after dark in worship to some ancient and bloodthirsty power.
Outsiders scoff at these local superstitions but, if they stay within the village limits after sunset, they may find themselves involved in dreadful rituals to ensure a good harvest or to see unborn children grow up healthy and strong. So don’t stay too long…
Inspired by many influences from the darker side of 70s children’s television and fiction, this folk horror programme guide draws on the spirit of Summerisle, Devil’s End, Mileaway, Milbury and many more to help realise the village of Winterly and it’s bizarre inhabitants.
WHO ARE CROOKED DICE?
Crooked Dice Game Design Studio has been part of the wargaming hobby since 2010. We specialise in wargames rules and 28mm miniatures inspired by the many and varied iconic worlds of 60s-70s Cult TV. We have a range of over 300 miniatures and an extensive selection of resin terrain and vehicles.
We also publish 7TV – wargaming in the world of cult tv. These fun and flexible skirmish rules allow you to recreate any type of cinematic action on the tabletop.
SO WHAT IS 7TV?
The basic rules allow you to put together a cast of between 3 and 24 (or more!) models and fight other casts in abandoned warehouses, secret volcano lairs, forbidding jungles and underwater bases – in fact anywhere you like! Use your star qualities, special effects and gadgets to get your mission accomplished before the countdown ends and the episode is over.
The core rules are generic so, if you’ve seen it on screen or had a dream about your perfect lineup, you can put your cast together quicker than ever before. You can find out more and download a FREE copy of the 7TV rules here.
WHY KICKSTARTER?
Kickstarter has been chosen as a way to help fund production of this new set of miniatures and rules. Successful funding via Kickstarter will be the quickest way to deliver more miniatures than if we used our traditional release schedule. So simply more minis, much faster! Plus the reach of Kickstarter is huge, and a community in itself, so we hope it will introduce Crooked Dice to a whole new audience.
FUNDING TARGET
We have set our initial funding target at £2000 which will cover production costs for over 20 new pewter miniatures in the core pledges and the printing of a new set of profile cards for this cast.
THE TEAM
We are lucky enough to work with some very talented folks and this project would not have been possible without them. Sculpts have been brought to life by Ernst Veingart, Steve Saleh, Iain Colwell, Andrew May and Paolo Fabiani.
The painting of display models (sorry folks – the minis all come unpainted) has been brought to you by the talents of Simon Bradley, Andrew Taylor, Mark Dixon and Kevin Dallimore. Kev also provided photography for the campaign and for the Programme Guide, while illustrations are from artists Wayne Peters and Andrew Maclachlan.
Children of the Fields was an original idea from Helena Nash, who also provided additional material for the guide. Thanks as always to her and Morgan Nash for their support and ideas in helping me drag the guide kicking and screaming into life!
SHIPPING
As a long standing mail order business with a successful web store, we ship packages all over the world, every day. So you can be rest assured that your parcels are in good hands and will reach you safely.
The shipping will be added AFTER the Kickstarter, so is not included in your pledge. Shipping cost will be calculated by weight and size of your pledge and with the variables available in campaign is difficult to be exact. However, we try and only charge a flat rate, but lead is heavy and books are bulky! So estimated costs are:
UK: £3.
European Union: From £5 to £12
Rest of World (including Canada and USA): From £8 to £13
Australia & New Zealand: £8 to £15
Please note that the 7TV Boxed Set is over 1 KG and counts as a small parcel. This may incur extra additional postage costs. Current standard shipping prices for JUST the box are currently £3 UK, £10 to Europe and £15 for Rest of the World.
Und das sind die Pledges:
Und das sind die Stretch Goals:
Es gibt fast alle Kickstarter-Modelle auch als einzelne Add-ons.
Die Kampagne läuft noch 12 Tage.

Will haben.. Wie geil sind die denn.. Dann könnte ich mein Spinespure Regelwerk entstauben…
