Idoneth Deepkin: Writer Insights – The Lore

Games Workshop Warhammer Age Of Sigmar Idoneth Deepkin Preview 1 1

The Idoneth Deepkin have some of the richest and most complex lore of any Warhammer Age of Sigmar faction. On the surface, these aelves fight for Order, like their predecessors – but dive deeper, and you’ll find a long and tragic history that gives them a unique identity of their own. The Idoneth Deepkin are more than just an army – they’re a culture with their own way of life beyond of the battlefield.

From insights into just what Teclis is up to, to plot threads that hint at what’s to come after Malign Portents, to the opportunity to explore a well-realised culture from the hidden places of the Mortal Realms, the new battletome is great for narrative fans – we caught up with the people that wrote it to find out more…

Cunning fans might have noticed one of the juiciest lore entries already – the coming of the Shyish Necroquake…

That’s right – whatever Nagash has planned, it’s happening, and the cities of Order are in trouble. Only time will tell exactly what the Necroquake means, but it doesn’t look like good news…

Idoneth Deepkin: Tactical Tips

Games Workshop Warhammer Age Of Sigmar Idoneth Deepkin Preview 1 1

Over the past year, we’ve seen battletomes and armies in Warhammer Age of Sigmar go from strength to strength. Each army has seen flavourful and powerful mechanics like the Kharadron Codes and the Cycle of Decay, combined with a rich pool of artefacts, command traits, warscroll battalions and more to customise your collection with.

As a brand new army, the Idoneth Deepkin bring all sorts of unexpected tricks to the tabletop – and we want to give you the edge when it comes to playing with (or against!) them. We caught up with some of our expert playtesting team for their top tips on using the Idoneth Deepkin:

Thanks, guys! If you’re looking to make full use of these ocean-dwelling aelves, make sure to pre-order your copy of Battletome: Idoneth Deepkin.

The Akhelian King Name Generator

Games Workshop Warhammer Age Of Sigmar Idoneth Deepkin Preview 1 1

This weekend, you’ll be able to pre-order the Akhelian King – dauntless rulers of the enclaves of the Idoneth Deepkin.

Characters like the Akhelian King offer a great opportunity to make your own heroes – after all, while named characters are cool, there’s something particularly special about leading your army with a commander of your own making.

To help get you started, we’ve made an Akhelian King generator, designed to allow you to give your army’s leader an aelvish-sounding name, as well as providing some prompts for further narrative building by letting you generate an age and a quirk for them too. Pick the ones you like the sound of or entrust yourself to the dice – it’s up to you!

Tell us about the Akhelian Kings you generate on the Warhammer Age of Sigmar Facebook page, while if you’re particularly inspired, you’ll want to make sure you pre-order Battletome: Idoneth Deepkin – as well as being packed with background, you’ll find command traits, artefacts and enclaves to customise your Akhelian King even further.

  • Shit. Da ist doch viel dran, was mir thematisch gefällt. ^^
