When MTU infantry come up against a particularly well entrenched foe, sending in waves of marines to overwhelm the enemy is a cost considered unacceptable by MTU command. Instead, they will call upon the TALOS spec ops teams, who are specially trained in close quarters combat and equipped to assault enemy fortifications. Supplied with weaponry designed for room clearance and shattering offences, each four man fireteam consists of one trooper armed with a devastating flame projector, another with a Multi Purpose Smart Assisted Grenade Launcher and the remaining two with the high rate of fire K52 Objective Combat Carbine. However, the unique aspect of the TALOS marines is their powerful and bulky exo suits. These possess various offensive and defensive systems to ensure the team can easily breach-and-clear the objectives they have been assigned. The TALOS suits posses optical multi-spectrum viewing options for the soldier to choose mid battle, quickly allowing him to swap between thermal, night vision and organic-circulatory-system detection viewing, essentially allowing him to ‘see’ through nearby walls to enemies behind cover, wherever they are hiding. The team is fully networked to one another, allowing each individual to ‘mark’ or ‘tag’ targets of note, effortlessly integrating the squad to search and destroy their chosen enemies. The armour itself contains several layers of light-weight hardened polymers which can deflect multiple small arms threats from the entrenched enemy combatants. This armour is also impervious to friendly small arms fire, which allows them to be used in what the infantry call ‘the hellstorm’ as the team would simply smash their way into an enemy zone, fire their carbines and flamers indiscriminately into the room and cover every inch with their devastating firepower, including each other.

Instead, they will call upon the TALOS spec ops teams, who are specially trained in close quarters combat and equipped to assault enemy fortifications. At times in the built-up slums of New Helix, hostiles can easily build themselves well entrenched positions using the plethora of steel from broken down spaceships and concrete – Local Warlords making themselves a king of their own dystopian castle. When these positions need to be removed or their occupants cleared the TALOS Breaching Squads are sent in. The lead TALOS marine is armed with a 40mm short-barrelled breaching gun which goes by the nickname of the „Door Knocker“. This weapon is able to blow a reinforced door (and most likely the whole side of a building) open which allows access for the other members to enter and begin their sweep. First to enter typically being the TALOS marine armed with the N11 Automatic Shotgun with the TALOS Captain behind him with duel Heavy Pistols. Finally the last member covering the rear of the entry being armed with the typical K52 belt-fed Carbine. Should the worst case scenario appear before them, the Shotgunner has a remote control demolition drone attached to his back. This can be used to clear a floor, bunker or other position from a relatively safe distance. The unique aspect of the TALOS marines is their powerful and bulky exo suits. Talos Exo Suits – Heavy Weapons – 6,00 GBP
While experts in close quarters urban warfare, there are times in combat that the heavy armoured and armed unit of the TALOS Teams require weapons of more static nature. Be it in an anti-vehicular role or to destroy other well-defended positions. The first weapon used in the Heavy Support role with the TALOS is a 2mm Railgun. While the calibre of the weapon is laughably small, the sheer speed of the projectile and pin-point area of impact will literally suck out the occupants of any confined space, such as the cockpit of a Mech or Vehicle. The second heavy gunner is equipped with the semi-automatic 30mm HEAT shoulder-mounted cannon. This weapon can be used to knock out armoured targets, entrenched positions and squads of infantry with ease in a shower of explosive might. The two TALOS marines that are on escort duty to the big guns are both armed with the K52 Carbine. One having a dedicated belt-fed weapon while the second possessing the magazine-based variant. In the unlikely event that one of the heavy gunners becomes a casualty, the magazine-based K52 can be discarded easily, where-as the belt feeding backpack cannot be removed without assistance. The unique aspect of the TALOS marines is their powerful and bulky exo suits. Die sehen toll aus, aber sind die Minis immer noch so klein, wie aus dem KS oder haben sie sich mittlerweile dem Scale Creep der führenden Hersteller angepasst?

Wer soll das sein? 15mm ist total balkanisiert. Da gibt es keine „führenden“ Hersteller.
Abgesehen davon sind die Infanterie modelle von WD gar nicht so klein….
und von einem Fettnäpfchen zum nächsten, liebe Schlange!
Also ich mische gerne und häufig Khurasan, Ion Age (und Alternative Armies) sowie Blue Moon (sowie umgebautese Demonworld und Copplestone), die sich im Gegensatz zu WD bereits jeweils sehr (nein wirklich sehr!) umfassende Ranges haben.
Die sind aber schon alle auf „guten“ 18mm für normale Menschen.
@ Jarrek: Die Talos-Miniaturen sind nach Augemaß geschätzt ca. 2(-3)mm höher als die normalen Exterminators von Khurasan, allerdings deutlich filigraner und damit mMn. nicht so gut zu kombinieren.
Die Talos Suits sind in der Tat rund 18 – 20mm groß, aber das ist SInn der Übung, die sollen größer sein als die normalen Marines.

Peter Pig hat auch sehr viele tolle Sachen, aber die Gesichter sehen allesamt aus wie Munchs Schrei und die Minis sind relativ klein. Zumindest für andere Epochen hat deren Webshop aber dermaßen viele tolle Sachen, wie Nivelliergeräte, Wassertürme etc., dass ein Blick auf jeden Fall lohnt.

Die 15mm Szene wächst und gedeiht großartig; leider sind wir in D nicht so gut vernetzt, und ich kenne in der Hauptstadt viel zu wenige Leute.

Laut einem Teilnehmer des Shattered Void KS werden wohl immer noch 3-4 Monate ins Land gehen. Dafür das es hieß, das man mit dem neu angeschafften Drucker vlt sogar die Auslieferung vor der Salute beginnen könnte, ist 3-4 Monate ziemlich ernüchternd
Ich bin da auch ein wenig ernüchtert, aber was will man machen. Alan hat erst nach Drohung mit Rückbuchung seiner Zahlungen die 3D-Master für seine Marines von Prodos zurückbekommen, ohne die hätte er nicht einmal mehr die bestehende Serie weiterproduzieren können…
Der Drucker ist inzwischen wohl weitgehend einsatzbereit, er experimentiert aber noch mit den besten Optionen für möglichst hohe Qualität. Ich würde mir auch möglichst schnell meine Schiffe wünschen, aber bis zu den Mastermodellen ist es leider noch ein Stück hin. Das Gießen als solches soll dann aber wohl sehr schnell gehen.
Dann hätte er rechtzeitig mal ein Statement abgeben müssen. Nach dem Motto: es wird defintiv nix vor Salute, aber der ganze Prozess wird auch eher sogar noch ins 3te Quartal reichen….wenn man von sich aus in die Vollen geht und von einer möglichen Pre-Salute Auslieferung spricht, ist man gut beraten ganz schnell aktiv wieder davon zurückzurudern. Jetzt wo es offensichtlich wird, ist es eigentlich zu spät :-/
Ja viele KS-Firmen checken das einfach immernoch nich mit der Kommunikations-Strategie. Bislang dürfte sich doch mal rumgesprochen haben, das KS-Kunden im Großteil kein Problem mit Verspätungen/Verschiebungen habsn, ja diese sogar von sich aus einkalkulieren, solange sie dann im Gegenzug up-to-date gehalten werden bzw auf ihre Anfragen reagiert wird.
