Fourth Quarter Football gives you the feel of Football, but in a game that can be played in under one and a half hours. There are no endless tables and charts, just heart pumping action focussing on the key skill players.
Fourth Quarter Football comes with a selection of superbly detailed 32mm scale resin figures. The base game has an offense and a defense in different coloured resin, so they can be played with no painting required. Or you can paint the figures in your own designs.
Fourth Quarter Football is the closest you can come to playing Gridiron Football without donning shoulder pads. Players create playbook decks of play cards and select plays from those dealt to their hand. The play card chosen is then executed on the field, using a series of unique mechanics. An sich eine interessante Idee, aber ob sich dafür ein Abnehmer findet? Tabletopper greifen denke ich eher zu Bloodbowl oder Guild Ball (auch wenn sich letzteres eher an Fußball orientiert) denke ich. Football Fans spielen entweder selber, gucken im TV oder spielen Madden und Co. auf der Konsole/dem PC. Die fehlende, weil sicher einfach zu teure, NFL-Lizenz könnte da auch ein Hindernis sein. Anderseits kann ich mir vorstellen, dass es dafür durchaus einen Markt gibt. Subbuteo oder Tipp Kick sind ja auch sehr beliebt. Wenn man z. B. wie oben Beschrieben quasi ein Playbook erstellt und dies dann gut auf dem Spiel umgesetzt wird, wäre es für Football-Fans durchaus interessant. Auf jeden Fall einer der interessanteren Sport-TT KS und für mich persönlich auch interessanter als Blood Bowl. o.o
Also ich finde es eigentlich auch sehr interessant…nur irgendwie stört mich, dass man von dem Regelheft und insbesondere von den „Playbook-Karten“ nichts sieht.
Ich finde es auch von den Posen ein bisschen problematisch, wenn quasi immer beim Start (keine Ahnung wie der Fachbegriff ist) wo die Spieler sich gegenüber stehen, schon einige in die Höhe hüpfen, um einen Ball zu fanden, der noch nicht im Spiel ist.
Hm. Habe doch tatsächlich vor etwa einen Monat angefangen selber (zum Spaß für mich) ein Grundkonzept für ein Realistischeres Football TT als Bloodbowl zu entwickeln. Lustig das da noch mehr nicht Americaner Lust drauf haben. Mir ist aber das Feld zu klein. Ich habe mir die Orginal Maße eines Feldes auf 22m Miniaturen Maßstäbe runtergrehnet. Und ohne Felder…
