Bolt Action: A34 Comet Heavy Tank
Warlord Games präsentieren ihren neuen A34 Comet Heavy Tank.
The Comet in many ways was an up-rated Cromwell, retaining its low silhouette and improving on both armour and armament. It had more than 4 inches of frontal armour – the same as the much heavier American Pershing tank.
The top speed of the earlier Cromwell had been widely praised, though it caused a number of problems in practice, including suspension failures and thrown tracks during high speed turns. To prevent these problems the Comet’s speed was governed to 32mph, though it was still faster than many of its contemporaries.
The Comet’s gun was a new weapon derived from the 17-pdr and it was the same calibre (76.2mm), it was officially known as the 77mm high velocity (HV) to avoid confusion between the two types. Comets were issued to front line units in December 1944 and fought in Germany after the Rhine crossing.

Nicht schlecht. Ein weiterer Panzer für das britische Arsenal, auch wenn der Comet ja ein absolutes Late War Fahrzeug ist – und im Grunde kaum mehr zum Einsatz kam…

Ich hatte ja schon immer gehofft, dass Warlord Games mal den Comet in ihr Sortiment aufnimmt, da ich ihn gerne für meine Briten hätte. Der einzige andere Comet in dem Maßstab ist glaube ich von der Waffenkammer. Der sieht zwar auch richtig gut aus, doch ist dort aus den USA zu bestellen schwieriger. Früher gab es die noch auf der Crisis Antwerpen am Stand von Great Escape game, die jetzt aber mittlerweile mit Company B zusammenarbeiten.
Ich hab meinen von der Waffenkammer und bestellen ist dort ganz einfach. Sogar der Versand war ziemlich schnell und relativ günstig wenn ich micht recht entsinne aus Kanada.
Außerdem ist sein Resin weiß, was ich lustig fand, weil ich beim Zusammenbau ständig an weiße Schokolade denken musste.
Würde mich über einen neuen Panzer bei den Japanern freuen.
Type 89B wäre auf der Wunschliste weit oben.
Oder nach der Maus der Typ 100 O-I… 🙂
Wäre auch nicht schlecht.
Damit die Maus nicht so einsam ist.
Allerdings der Type 89B wäre zurzeit meine Nr. 1 für die Japaner.
