Black Scorpion: Tombstone Kickstarter

Tombstone is an old west tabletop skirmish game for 2 players. We’re releasing the book, available in English, French, Spanish, German and Italian (printed version only in English) plus over 110 new 32mm resin miniatures!
This Kickstarter is to put the project in action and to give us exact numbers of the book and miniatures ordered to aid in printing and production logistics.
Most of the work is done and ready to see below! The rules, translations (except Italian) and miniatures are all complete. All that’s to be done is the final graphics layout of the book and miniature production.

The book contains over 120 pages. The rules are done but we are still working on the final touches of the layout and some extra content, hence we don’t have an exact page count yet. The book contains everything you need to know to play the game. From introduction to basic gameplay rules, scenarios and encounters and perhaps most importantly the campaign section where you can build your posse and infamy over time. In this way games follow on from each other and gang members can be injured or die, gain new skills or weapons and new members can be recruited. At the back there’s a resource section. This contains all the extras you need to play such as tokens, roster sheets and markers. these will also be made available online. There’s also a quick reference section to help gameplay with essential charts and reminders.
The book contains stunning art throughout, catalogue pages of all the miniatures and loads of cool extras such as a building signs page, interior comic, newspaper, wanted posters and maps, scenic shots of gameplay to give you inspiration and idea for your gaming table and more.
The book is available in printed format in English and in PDF format in English, French, Spanish, German and Italian. All the translations have been done by native translators who are also gamers.

For the Kickstarter we’ve arranged the miniatures into their various factions. This consists of a leader (mounted and unmounted version) deputy, and three packs of 4 models. Of course which models you use as what in your gang is completely up to you! Any model can be mounted in Tombstone, of course its not practical to make mounted versions of every miniature so we’ve started with the leader which would be the most natural to give a horse. We will make the horses available as a separate pack allowing for conversions (these are also useful for gameplay as sometimes your model will unmount his horse). As an extra we’ll also add a mounted ‘conversion pack’. This will consist of a kit to make converting a model to mounted easier. We’ll also make a weapons sprue available too with sculpted on hands! (something people always ask for!)

All the miniatures will be cast in resin using the same high quality method we use for all our models, cast in house by us. The sculptures are hand made, there are no digital renders here and the casting you see in the pictures is the same method and material as the ones you buy. (no cheaper alternatives made overseas).

Nearly all the miniatures are one piece castings (with the odd exception) meaning they just need attaching to the base!

 The Game:

Tombstone is an old west skirmish game for two players. Typically you will start with around 6-8 models in your posse, this will increase as you earn more funds and recruit more members. You can of course play one off games and start with as many or as few models as you like. The game is designed for our 32mm miniatures but any models from 25-40mm would work fine. We suggest playing on a 48”x 48” (4×4’) table, again this is a guide and you can play on any size you prefer.
