Kasi and her beloved little sister, Keisha, grew up practicing the healing properties of Voodoo throughout all of Jamaica. Schooled in the Voodoo magics by their grandmother and town priestess, Eyana, they learned to cure the sick, ward off evil, and foresee aspects of the future. One day while practicing her magics, Kasi perceived a terrible premonition: shadows surrounded her sister, as a thin hand adorned in gold stole the life from her body. Wary, Kasi immediately sought her sister, only to find her lifeless body by the field near their home. As Kasi wept with Keisha in her arms, the darkness inside stirred and vengeance filled her heart. Devoting herself to the dark magics, Kasi soon ventured out into the world, searching for the person who extinguished the lovely, little light of her life.

Ever curious and full of boundless joy, Lumi viewed the world as a place of adventure. The daughter of a famed family of explorers, she and her parents traversed locales near and far to investigate ancient ruins and forgotten cities. One auspicious day while venturing the Mediterranean with her parents, a mystical spirit of pure energy awoke, attracted to Lumi’s innate light and innocence. Arising from a long-lost, submerged city out at sea, Zakkadia embraced Lumi, vowing to protect her from any harm that should cross her in this life. Mysterious agents adorned in crimson and gray were soon dispatched to capture her. Protected by Zakkadia’s powers, she was nowhere to be seen, so they captured her parents instead. Guided by Zakkadia thereafter, she soon encountered Alberdus, a seasoned warrior who identified the agents and allied himself with her mission to find and rescue her parents.

A sickly and unassuming teenager, Alberdus was ashamed of his fragility. Following the ancient Spartan tradition, he lost himself in Mount Taygetus in an attempt to end his life. On the verge of death, he encountered a strange hermit that provided him succor in exchange for intense physical work. For one month, the hermit forced Alberdus to hunt for food, cook, fell trees and build a small hut for himself. AsAlberdus gradually grew healthier and stronger, he eventually understood that the hermit was not using him for labor, but that he was actually strengthening him as a warrior. Several years passed, each finding Alberdus more muscular, powerful, and tactical as he trained in Pankration, the hand-to-hand fighting style from ancient Greece. After the many years with the hermit, he suddenly disappeared leaving behind a final parting gift for Alberdus: a Herculean pelt imbued with the immense strength of Hercules himself. Drawn to Lumi by the mystical spirit Zakkadia, Alberdus now quests with Lumi as a paternal figure in her mission to find and rescue her parents.
