Stronghold Terrain: Neue Previews der Draugr

Yesterday I recieved a small package with the first casts (a few master casts in resin) of the already finished miniatures Stefan Niehues-Ellermann sculpted for me.
I had to paint them at once and decided to start with the skeleton-dollies. These dollies were originally only meant as starting points for sculpting undead miniatures with remnants of cloth, armour, weapons or even half rotten zombies. But I think these models may be very interesting for some of you for different purposes, especially for decorating your dungeons, battlefields or dioramas and so I decided to make them available soon.
The first 3 pictures show the painted sprues with the two different skeletons. The left skeleton is sculpted as a male and the left one as a femal. The poses are very straight and without any dynamic for better casting. But it is very easy to alter the pose in nearly every way you wish by bending or cutting and glueing at the different joints. The first 4 examples can be seen in the following pictures.
The pictures 4 – 6 show a little scene Stefan created and sent me. I painted them and put them on one of the first snowy bases I ever did. (Comment: The snow effect was a little test for the base of the next miniature standing on my workbench – the already primed „Liche on undead horse“ I want to paint next.
The last 3 pictures show a pair of skeletons I bended into a lying and a sitting position – after I had already painted them. This was a test with the very first casts of the interim mould and the miniature had some failures. I couldn’t hope that the results would be as good as they were in the end.

And finally I show you the two standing Draugar in comparison to miniatures of other companies.

This are some pictures of the Lord (or King) of the Draugar of the North. He carries a big and deadly icesword slung to his back and wears a leatherarmour. The miniatures is posed as if he is raising the fallen from the dead.
Take a closer look at the head and you can see a kind of crown of ice and the fine details of the folds in his head. The sculpter Stefan Niehues done a fantastic job on this miniature. It will be a real fun to paint this miniatures tomorrow.

Der White Rider(?) sieht echt gut aus. Jetzt kann ich kaum den April erwarten.
Die sehen echt sehr cool aus, aber jedes Mal, wenn ich die sehe, fürchte ich, dass hinter der nächsten Ecke eine Copyright-Klage lauert. 🙁

Vielleicht können die Herren mir mal erklären, was neuerdings daran strafbar sein soll, verwesende Leichen in Lamellenpanzern (oder was auch immer das sein soll) herzustellen?
Verklagt John Romero etwa TWD & Co.?
es geht darum, dass es sich hierbei um die „Weißen Wanderer“ aus der HBO Serie Game of Thrones handelt. John Romero hat kein Copyright auf Zombies, bei den Figuren handelt es sich aber um Kopien von geistigem Eigentum von HBO. Wenn ST so doof gewesen wäre sie „weiße Wanderer“ oder „the Other“ zu nennen, hätten sie vermutlich schon ein Schreiben vom Anwalt bekommen. So ist es eher in einer Grauzone in der normalerweise Crooked Dice gerne schwimmt.
Heißt allerdings nicht, das dass was Mirco und Elmar da machen tatsächlich legal ist.
BTW: ich finde das Pferd immer noch zu klein 😛
Ich dachte der Herr Martin hätte sich diese Eiszombies ausgedacht? 😉
Müssen dann also jetzt alle Firmen, die Eiszombies produzieren Angst haben, dass HBO sie verklagt?

Wie gut ist das denn! Biegsame Skelette, die man in die Ecke eines Dungeons schmeißen kann? 😀
wie schon früher gesagt finde ich die got zu fuß sachen gut, bis auf den reiter, der ist meines erachtens völlig vorbei, nicht majestätisch, eher stocksteif und eben… klar ne miniatur. im schlechten sinne. schade.
mit den skeletten weiß ich nichts anzufangen. gibt soviele skelette, dass sich mir nicht erschließt, warum sich jemand diese hier kaufen soll, insbesondere da sie vermutlich um unlängen teurer sein werden, als das was verfügbar ist. ist natürlich nen netter touch, dass es männliche und weibliche varianten gibt, im endeffekt aber irrelevant. naja, mal sehen ob noch halbwegs bekleidete hinzukommen..
Ich habe schon ewig nach Skeletten gesucht, die vollkommen blank sind! Entweder waren sie gerüstet oder viel zu grob detailliert oder einfach zu starr, um sie irgendwohin zu drapieren. Ich bin derzeit bei Plastikskeletten von Wargames Factory gelandet, die ich aber noch testen muss.
