Pulp City: Cold War Kickstarter Updates

Pulp City Cold War hatte in den letzten Tagen mehrere Kickstarter Updates daher haben wir hier die drei letzten für euch.

Update Nr.45

Spotlight on Mechved

Mechved is a Russian bear, grievously injured during the war by enemy soldiers, its life saved by the incredible science of Professor Hammer, and transformed into a cybernetic organism: part bear, part machine.

As the Red Republik Powerhouse, Mechved is all about attack in one way or another. He has Rending Slash (like Wildman), which offers a Damage 2 FX close combat action. This is backed up by Mechved’s devastating AP 3 Heavy Ordnance – this Projectile (ranged) attack has a range of 6 inches and hits with a basic Damage 2 and Blast 2, meaning multiple models can be hit – especially useful against Tanks protecting other models. Mechved’s final Action is Cornered Animal, an AP 1 Damage dealing Reaction triggered by enemy models coming into base to base. With AP Limit of 5, he always has capacity to dish out the hurt.

It is not just Mechved’s Exclusive Actions that make him a threat – his Powers provide limited Immunity to MIND and SPIRIT Actions (excluding Damage), add an extra die when attacking if at half HP or below, and allow a free move after causing enough Damage in Base to Base during his own Activation. His Actions and Powers synergize to make him a bundle of threat.

Mechved is not wholly unstoppable though. If players can keep Mechved at a distance, then there is little he can do to correct that except advance, and his AGILITY is very low and non-Trump, so that is the easiest exploit to Damage him.

S.P.U.T.N.I.K. is an ideal companion to move Mechved into position, ready to rampage through enemy lines. Outside of Red Republik, Rook can be a handy companion, allowing Mechved to potentially use 3 Rending Slash or 2 Heavy Ordnance Actions in a Round.

Update Nr.46

Progress Thursdays #13 (Back on Track)

Welcome to another Progress Thursday. This time brought to you on a Thursday once again.

This week we’ve been working hard on more cards to make sure everything is as good as we can get it for you. Lots of proofreading, double checking and last minute changes. But that kind of thing doesn’t make for fascinating updates. So have a look at some of what you can expect from us.

We’re very happy with how things are progressing and these should be off to the printer very soon. Rest assured that the other side of these cards will also have some changes to them. Just in case you were worried.

As we mentioned last week we are also working on more content for the website and some new fun surprises for everyone. So keep an eye on our Facebook page and the Website for updates.

Speaking of new stuff coming to Pulp City. We have to ask what’s up with this card?

Update Nr.47

Spotlight on Bug-Out

Shrunken and bonded to his insect control suit, entomologist Lester Smalls joined the Supreme Alliance hoping to return himself to human size.  His suit’s pheromone emitters and sound mimickers allow him to control vast swarms of insects to do his bidding. His trusty steed Baily the Beetle allows him to cover distances suprisingly quickly and without detection.

Bug-Out is a flying Infiltrator who benefits from Stealth. His Small and Elusive Power grants him +1 die to any Action as the Defender, and opponents never benefit from Size Matters against him. His Nimble Power means he can use his Trump Agility in place of his Defense Trait. Put together, those abilities mean Bug-Out is fast, hard to hurt, and able to begin the game almost anywhere he wants.

Adding to his defense, his Bug Defenders Action grants him 2 extra dice on defense rolls as a Reaction for 1 AP.  Bug Swarm is a Projectile attack with range of 6 inches, providing Suppress 1 and Power Down 1 as FX. Finally, Bug Hives allows Bug-Out to Summon Hives of stinging insects that cause Damage 1 to Enemy models ending their Activation within 4 inches of a Hive.  Bug-Out can maintain multiple Hives at once allowing him to control large portions of the battlefield.

Fast, highly mobile, and difficult to damage, Bug-Out is superb for completing objective and controlling areas. He doesn’t deal much Damage himself, so if you are looking for an assassin look elsewhere. Bug-Out is about harassment and taking objectives. He pairs well with Supreme Alliance naturally, but can also find a place with Heavy Metal or A.R.C. given his Science Origin.  While hard to hit he has less HP than your average Infiltrator so avoid trying to use him in a stand up fight.

  • Erfrischend anders. Kalter Krieg und Superhelden passt doch perfekt!

Kapitän Kommunismus ist schwer am überlegen ob der den kapitalistischen Klassenfeind Kickstarter trotzdem unterstützt! 🙂
