Black Sailors: 54mm Ork-Piraten Kickstarter
Bei Kickstarter stechen ganz besondere Orks in See – die Black Sailor Ork-Piraten von Legion of the Cow LTD.
Build an Orc Pirate crew ! Incredible large-scale sculpts cast in amazingly detailed resin for painters and collectors
„From the deepest seas to the Storm Coast, the Black Sailors raid all in their wake. No village or harbor can sleep in peace. The innocent live in fear knowing their time is coming. Their assault is far from a blade in the shadows. The waters of the harbour tremble with their wild howls as the raid approaches. The louder, the better. The bloodier, the better.
Only the strongest may escape their fury, and live to serve the Black Sailors. The crew does not waste its time with feeble prisoners. Only the rumours of their savagery travel faster than the wind beneath their sails. Those who hear them whisper that their thirst for gold and blood will never be sated. Few know that their plunder is in search of something much greater. Somewhere in the vast cold depths of the sea, shrouded in mystery, lays Old Jack’s Chest…“
ALL THE MINIATURES ARE 54mm SCALE (so around 75mm) IN RESIN
They are divided in several categories :
- The Crew
- The Kitchen
- The Companions
- The Runners
The Crew
- Guruk the first mate
- Kaptain Gorak the red
- Papa Jambo, the witch doctor UNLOCKED !
- Sharki, the dive master, UNLOCKED !
Guruk, the first mate, is the first born for the Black Sailors. Created from putty and madness by Allan Carasco, he is the first member of the whole crew.
Guruk is not clever. He’s not intelligent. He’s not smart… how many times do we need to say this? But he can smash skulls with one hand and whip the crew in line with one blink! No surprise that he was the first sailor to be chosen by the Kaptain to join the crew. A true Orc where it counts. He can kill you without a second thought, and probably kill you again because he forgot he did it the first time…“
Kaptain Gorak the Red is the second miniature born from the gifted hands of Allan Carasco. As the other pieces in the brand, he comes in a multi part resin kit and in 54mm scale.
„What happens when you have an Orc with a brain? Well brain plus orc equals leadership, and leadership equals the Kaptain! Gorak was the first to solve this daunting equation… or maybe it was because he had the biggest gun at the moment and was the only one left standing. Nevertheless, as the new Kaptain Gorak has a plan! Long ago he heard the legend of Old Jack’s chest, a famous hidden treasure hidden somewhere along the Storm Coast. Hidden at the bottom of the sea, it lies guarded by monsters and sirens. However, there is nothing that will stand in the way of the Kaptain’s quest! Maybe raiding all the villages along the shore is not necessary, but there is nothing wrong with a little fun along the way, is there? Besides, the ship needs wood and powder, and the boys need blood and mayhem…“
New member of „The Crew“, Papa Jambo, witch doctor. Sculpted by Joaquin „Freeman“ Palacios,
„Papa Jambo wasn’t always a witch doctor. He began as the real doctor of the crew and then things turned ugly. At first, it was really simple for him. It bleeds you burn. It’s opened you sew it back inside. It’s broken…you unbroke it with planks and nails. Then things started to be a little bit more complicated. Crew members started to get sick. No blood, no broken bones, only sick. So Jambo tried the famous blood magic, seemed easy at first glance. But the crew members got sicker and sicker and then some of them died because of his magic. So the Kaptain had an idea, using his magic against the other ships, and to Jambo’s greatest relief it worked amazingly. Now he does his voodoo mumbo jumbo on the other ships and enemies start dying without using gun powder, making Gorak really happy. The hat comes with the function of course…“
Sharki, the diver joins the crew, sculpted again by Joaquin „Freeman“ Palacios
„Nobody remembers Sharki’s real name, probably something with a lot of K and R, something terrible as any Orc name. But he doesn’t want to be called by his birth name anymore, only Sharki cause he deserved it and no one will argue with that. He is probably the most violent crew member, only second to Guruk, and he has a short temper. So short that one day he ended on the plank with the Kaptain himself pushing him in the back. You don’t mess with the Kaptain. Sharki entered the water, and was immediately surrounded by real carcarodons, logical ashore Shark island…But after 20 minutes of blood bath, he emerged out of the waters, a tail between his teeth. After that high deed, the Kaptain immediately promoted him, and now Sharki leads the underwater sabotage group who sunk the ships in harbors before attacks.“
Ugg the troll cook is the third miniature of the brand. Sculpted again by the talented Allan Carrasco, Ugg is 54mm scale, but slightly bigger than that… of course he is, he’s a troll!!
„Chop chop chop… is that the only words that dumb oaf can pronounce? Ugg is not well known for his wits or the size of his vocabulary, but boy does he ever know how to use that cleaver! Whether is chopping lunch or chopping heads the cook gets the job done. Just be sure to use simple words so he doesn’t get the too confused. A liability in some ways but a rare combination of talents which the Kaptain accepts. As for the food, he claims his stew is the best of all the Storm Coast… that is if you don’t mind your dinner coming up right after it goes down
King Khung the little monkey is the mascot of the ship, born directly from Big Childs, sculpted by Hugo Gomez Briones.
„Pirating can be a lonely business, and every Kaptain needs a trusty little companion. King Khung is the little monkey who fills this role for Gorak, and he has become the mascot of his Great pirate galleon: the Skulls Crusher. Found on the mysterious Monkey Island ( brilliantly named by the drunken dwarf who discovered it) Khung seemed like he would be an amusing addition to the crew. But one day, to the shock and delight of the crew, Khung stole a saber in the heat of the battle and plunged it in the heart of a filthy elf! From that day on, the devilish monkey fought like any other member of the crew. When the sound of battle calls this monkey goes bananas!“
First miniature sculpted by Christian Hardy for Big Child, Swift starts running now !
„Swift steals. Steals and runs. Steals, runs and sometimes falls down. One day he fell down on the wrong shoe. Gorak’s boot actually. The Kaptain bent over the little creature and, God knows why, lifted it up and spared his life. Maybe Gorak found sometimes interesting in Swift. Maybe it’s his quickness or his discretion, but anyway Swift survived the encounter. Now he is the first scout for any boarding party, and he is in charge of marking the weak spots on enemy ships. But he is definitely not responsible of the treasure chest…“

STRETCH GOALS
Our adventure begins with a treasure map. You can see here the different locations the Black Sailors want to explore and conquer. It’s your turn to help them find Old Jack’s chest! They will need new crew members and equipment to fulfill this journey, will you join the Black Sailors?
This time sculpted by master Pedro Fernandez, Gungh Jin joins the members of „The Kitchen“.
„In the past, the ship used to have goblins and snotlings to clean the deck. But that was before Gungh Jin. The troll seemed to love goblins and snotlings…as snacks, or cleaning mops. When the boys discovered him on the secluded Night Island, he was polishing the bones and helmets of the poor previous expedition crew. The armors were so clean that they almost shined in the night. Ok it took time to convince the troll to board the ship, time and a lot of beating and threatening but in the end he agreed to join the crew as the new cleaning manager. Sometimes one snotling disappears or one goblin runs franticly, screaming and cursing, but look how the ship is clean ! And it’s a good thing because blood is really sticking after the raids.“
