Ex Illis: Kickstarter geplant
Mir persönlich eine größe Freude, Ex Illis planen ein Comeback. Und wie könnte es anders sein? Man versucht sich auf Kickstarter. Unter dem neuen Label Chinchilla Games soll auch eine klassische Spielversion erscheinen, welche nicht auf den Computer angewiesen ist.
Ex illis will be back on Kickstarter!
We are currently working on a Kickstarter project to bring back the Ex illis game. Beginning soon (hopefully early november) we will start offering a whole new “classic” version with a paper rulebook for Ex-illis that will allow people to play in a more usual way, and of course, miniatures will be compatible with both this new game and the digital version. As such, we will still continue to support the PC / Mac game and we will publish a new build for the iOS version soon.
To open up the game to a wider audience, we decided to lift the DRM on the digital version of the game for everyone. This means anyone will be able to play the game with any miniatures without having to register it first. This should ensure the accessibility of the game and allow the digital community to grow with the new “classical” player base.
To all our old friends, thanks for your support over the years and to the newcomers, welcome to Ex illis!

Ob man damit erfolgreich sein wird oder am Ende bei dem Versuch die aktuelle Spielmechanik an klassische Tabletopspiele umzubauen am Ende weder die klassisch orientierten Würfeltabletopper, noch die alten, computernutzenden Ex Illis Veteranen erreichen wird bleibt abzuwarten.

Ein interessantes System, das nicht zwingend meins wäre. Aber es wird sehr spannend werden zu sehen, ob die Spieler Ex Illis annehmen werden.
Ex Illis hatte auf jeden Fall einen angenehmen eigenen Stil, vielleicht ist ja jetzt die richtige Zeit. Obwohl ich mich frage ob man angesichts der Technologie von Golem Arcana nicht schon einen Schritt weiter ist.
Die Idee von Ex Illis finde ich gut, die Papierregeln allerdings etwas daneben, da würde ich mich eher über eine Android App mit abgespeckter/ohne Grafik freuen. Gute Regeln in Papierform gibt es schon genug.
Ex Illis könnte es bestimmt schaffen, wenn sie das ganze System offen gestalten und dann auch die User eigene Einheiten etc erstellen lassen, dafür würde ich auch 15-20€ ausgeben.
Das tiptoi Golemspiel ist, trotz des Erfolges, hoffentlich kein Wegweiser.
Sich auf Android und iOS zu konzentrieren wäre wirklich die klügere Entscheidung – die Grafik/Animation war eh für den Hintern und Smartphones/Tablets sind nicht nur häufiger am Tisch vertreten, sondern reichen auch von der Hardware her mehr als aus.
Ich bin begeistert, gerade das 3te Bild einfach nur toll gemacht. bin sehr angetan.

This also means you can play the game with your friends and start an army of your own. All that for free.
In the end, what matters to us is that people are having fun playing our game.
