Dungeon & Dragons: Collectors Series
Battlefront / GaleForce 9 stellt die Collectors Series zu Dungeon & Dragons vor, welche nun auch bei ausgewählten Händlern in Deutschland erhältlich ist.
As many of you will have already heard, earlier this year we expanded our license agreement with Wizards of the Coast to include a new category Dungeons & Dragons Collector Series Miniatures. This premium range of models sculpted by some of the best names in the business and reproduced in the highest quality resin on the market is something never before done within the Dungeons & Dragons universe and we are very excited about what the future holds.
This range was conceived out of a desire to create the best miniatures in 30mm that D&D has ever seen utilising the enormous universe of material to pick and choose the best candidates to bring to life. This is not a range of basic characters but specialty themed sets and creatures that fit with the D&D release schedule to bring to life key moments from the mythos. We have drawn on the vast array of artwork and worked closely with the D&D creative team to choose and pose great models to stimulate the enthusiast, painter and collector alike.
It is not just the high quality of models that will set these figures apart in the miniature world but they are also limited edition sets! We felt that given the breadth of worlds and the near endless list of models we could make we did not want to have an ever expanding range but one that each month had a couple of new codes added to it but also had some earlier codes selling out. As part of the plan to deliver this limited edition range to market we have joined in partnership with a select group of stores around the world who will be our D&D Exclusive Retailers. These stores will be the only place to get your models from, obviously us too, and we will be working with them closely to help them deliver this range to you. With limited run sizes between, 1000 – 2000 per code, pre-ordering with your closest store will be essential and given the first two months of releases for January and February are now up for pre-order get in touch with your store today if you want to make sure to get your hands on the first of the Underdark series of codes.
The next thing you will all be asking is what’s next and although you won’t get a detailed update until early next year it is easy to say that you won’t have to wait long until you see Lolth in Spider Form, your first Dragon and Giant and a dark skinned ranger and famous wizard as well. We have only just started with this range but have the first dozen projects almost complete so stay tuned for more images and information as we surprise you every month with what we have planned.

Lustig – gestern mal dran gedacht, heute auf’m BK.
Die Illithiden-Plünder-Party 😀 ist definitiv mein Ding, wenn der Preis etwa stimmt.
Schön, wenn grafische Höhen- und Breitenangaben sich nicht decken… Der Gnoll zB ist so wie er dort steht minus den Haarschopf dem Breitenmaß entsprechend ca. 39mm, während es laut Höhenangabe nur 31mm sind. Ersteres sollte stimmen, da sich die Anzeige an den Bases orientiert – solange die Infanteriemodelle auf 25mm-Durchmesser-Bases stehen. Demnach wären die Illithiden ca. 34mm hoch, der Zwerg mit schlechter Hautfarbe 😉 2,6mm, das Hirntierchen unter 1,5mm und die Elfe mit dickem Hüpfseil knapp über 32mm bis zur Schädeldecke.

Oha! 50 Tacken für’n „Starter“…?!
Hmm? Was denn für ein Starter? Das sind Sammlermodelle, lein Starter. 10€/Charaktermodell ost zwar nicht günstig, aber deutlich unter GW Preis.
Die Anführungsstriche sind ich ja auch nicht umsonst da…
Diese Infanterieboxen sind ja eindeutig im Umfang von Fraktionsstarterboxen bei Skirmishern. 30-35 Tacken wären ok für so’n Pack. Interessanterweise kosten die sowohl 50 € wie auch USD…
Soo toll sind die Modelle aber nich, dass sie den €-Preis rechtfertigten. Und mit GW braucht man eigentlich gar nicht erst vergleichen. Zumindest kümmern mich die mittlerweile gar nicht mehr (u.a. wegen ihrerPreise, ja).
So kannst du das aber nicht vergleichen. Starterboxen sind zum anfixen da. Nach den Starterboxen sollst du noch sehr viel mehr Geld ausgeben. Das ist hier nicht gegeben, es sind Sammlermodelle. Fertig. Sicher sind sie nicht günstig, aber ich finde für das was sie sind noch im Rahmen.
Doch, klar kann ich das so vergleichen. Im Endeffekt ist es für den „Endverbraucher“ vollkommen banane, was die sich dabei denken. Das Produkt kommt genau so bei einem an – egal, ob als Sammlermodell deklariert, limitiert oder sonst irgendwas. Unter’m Strich sind es diese Modelle für dieses Geld. Und genau da is fertig.
Und es gibt zT für ähnliche, zT auch für niedrigere Beträge hochwertiger designte und modellierte Modelle. Natürlich nicht bei jedem Hersteller, ebensowenig mit jedem „Stempel“ drauf (D&D zB) und selbstverständlich auch nicht für jedes Setting bzw. jede Art Miniatur (Volk, Stil usw).
Wäre für mich auch alles kein großes Thema, wenn ich nicht sehr gerne ein, zwei Modelle davon hätte. Und ja: tatsächlich, weil ich die Modelle mag und weder plane, sie irgendwie spielerisch einzusetzen, noch auf irgendwelche Sonderherstellungen was gebe.
Obendrein wäre es auch ok, wenn die Modelle einzeln zu erstehen wären. Aber doch nicht in Boxen, wo ich auf 1/5 komplett pfeife und 2/5 bis 3/5 eher so lala in meinen Augen sind…
Aber mal sehen wie sich das entwickelt. Vielleicht werden die Preise ja noch adäquat zwischen den Währungen angeglichen. Oder so.
Schick. Da sin ein paar echt nette Sachen dabei. Zum Beispiel die Dunkelelfen-Priesterin oder der Eye Tyrant.
Wow, der Otherworld purpleworm und das Otherworld eye of tyrant stinken gegen die ab. Von den obereren Charakteren gefallt mir Cthulu in klein aber auch sehr gut!
Bin ja kein D&D Fan, aber die sind echt schick.
Na das ist mal ein must-have für mich…
Habe sie schon auf der Spiel dieses Jahr gesehen und da war ich schon überrascht, sie machen live noch nen besseren Eindruck. Echt sehr gelungene Modelle!
Dem kann ich mich nur anschliessen. Ich hatte ja das Glück Lolth kaufen zu können.
